It’s interesting timing given there was a pretty heavy 50% discount on annual subscriptions throughout Dec, locking people in for a year, insulating their subscriber numbers for a while.

Golden Globe Nominee Naveen Andrews Joins Last King Of The Cross Season Two.

Paramount+ today announced that acclaimed Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy Award nominee, Naveen Andrews will play the lead antagonist, Ray Kinnock, in the highly-anticipated second season of Australian original series Last King of The Cross, which will stream exclusively on Paramount+.

Best known for his role in the cult television series Lost , for which he won a Screen Actors Guild Award along with the cast, British actor Naveen has also appeared in the iconic classic movie The English Patient among others, and most recently, The Dropout, alongside Amanda Seyfried.

With filming underway in Sydney, season two of Last King of The Cross sees John’s sights set on capturing a new kingdom - the glittering prize of Oxford Street, Sydney’s nightclub empire. Naveen will bring to life the fictional character of Ray Kinnock, who is determined to either keep John out, or take him down.

Joining the many faces intent on challenging John’s crown in season two, are homegrown talent Luke Arnold (Scrublands, INXS: Never Tear Us Apart) and Matuse (The Fall Guy, Furiosa), who will play Dean Taylor and Benny respectively, two new drug lords hell-bent on bringing their booming trade into John’s clubs.

Paramount Australia’s Creative Advisor Drama, Rick Maier said: “Going up against the Ibrahims on screen is no easy task. Naveen promises to give Lincoln and Claude a run for their money. He’s a brilliant actor, and a fantastic inclusion for series two.

“The addition of Luke and Matuse only add weight to the feeling that this is the hottest ticket in town for actors keen to join this red hot ensemble. They will be terrific.”

Last King of The Cross is a HELIUM Pictures production for Paramount+ Australia with Cineflix Rights as the exclusive international distribution partner. The series has received major production investment from Paramount Australia in association with Screen Australia and is financed with support from Screen NSW through the Made in NSW fund and Fulcrum Media Finance. Post, digital and visual effects supported by Screen NSW and Screen Queensland.

Executive Producer for HELIUM, Mark Fennessy said: “Naveen is a highly respected and celebrated actor who has captivated audiences with stunning performances in major hits such as Lost, The English Patient, Bride and Prejudice and more recently The Dropout. A massive addition to Last King of The Cross , as our primary antagonist, he brings a delicious mix of cool and class to a diverse and multi-talented cast”.

Watching Cheers again at my leisure was one of the main reasons I resubscribed for the year. Then they removed it when I was in the middle of season two.

A Gentleman In Moscow. Streaming Exclusively on Paramount+ From Friday, 29 March 2024.

Paramount+ today released a teaser from its upcoming limited series A Gentleman In Moscow, and announced that the original series will premiere on Friday, 29 March exclusively on Paramount+.

An adaptation of Amor Towles’ internationally best-selling novel, A Gentleman In Moscow follows Count Alexander Rostov, played by Emmy Award winning actor Ewan McGregor (Star Wars franchise, Halston, Trainspotting), who, in the aftermath of the Russian Revolution, finds that his gilded past places him on the wrong side of history. Spared immediate execution, he is banished by a Soviet tribunal to an attic room in the opulent Hotel Metropol, threatened with death if he ever sets foot outside again. As the years pass and some of the most tumultuous decades in Russian history unfold outside the hotel’s doors, Rostov’s reduced circumstances provide him entry into a much larger world of emotional discovery. Co-created by Oscar nominee Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, Landman is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions exclusively for Paramount+.

Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, Landman is a modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. Moore’s acting career took off in the late 1980’s when she starred in St. Elmo’s Fire. She then went on to star in such iconic films as About Last Night…, Ghost, A Few Good Men, Indecent Proposal, The Scarlet Letter, Disclosure and G.I. Jane. Success poured into the following years, with Moore consistently in well-grossing films including Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, Bobby and Margin Call among many others. She produced and lent her voice to QCode’s podcast Dirty Diana, which is being adapted into a series that Moore will star in. In 2019, she added New York Times Best Seller to her lengthy list of credits with her memoir Inside Out.

In addition to Thornton and Moore, the series stars Ali Larter (The Last Victim), Michelle Randolph (1923), Jacob Lofland (Joker 2), Kayla Wallace (When Calls the Heart), James Jordan (Yellowstone), Mark Collie (Nashville) and Paulina Chávez (The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia).

Currently filming in and around Fort Worth, Texas, Landman is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Christian Wallace, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman and Stephen Kay. Dan Friedkin and Jason Hoch, for Imperative Development LLC, and J.K. Nickell and Megan Creydt, for Texas Monthly, also executive produce. Peter Feldman serves as co-executive producer.

The series is the latest addition to Sheridan’s growing slate on Paramount+, which includes 1923, 1883, Special Ops: Lioness, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King and Lawmen: Bass Reeves.
