Sunday Semi probably means Sunday Prelim?
90 minute preview for the 4.05pm game? That’s excessive.
Looks like next week’s preliminary finals will be played on Friday night and Sunday afternoon.
The NRL held talks with all relevant clubs on Monday afternoon, and the clubs are comfortable with the NRL’s decision. The NRL will organise charter flights so the Sydney teams can return home on Sunday night.
Wow, a full extra 48 hours?
The Courier Mail has described the schedule:
… the schedule represents a potential headache for the Broncos, who would have a seven-day turnaround for the grand final, compared to nine for the winner of the Friday preliminary final.
That would give Brisbane’s opponents an extra two days to freshen up for the decider, a major advantage at a time of the year when teams are fatigued and battling injuries in the run to the decider.
The NRL not only confirmed the men’s preliminary finals fixture last night, but also revealed that Suncorp Stadium would host a doubleheader on the Sunday, with the Broncos to host the Knights or the Titans in the NRLW preliminary final in early afternoon.
Friday, 26 September
NRL: Storm vs Raiders or Sharks, AAMI Park, Melbourne, 7:50pm AEST
Saturday, 27 September
NRLW: Roosters vs Cowboys or Sharks, Central Coast Stadium, Gosford, 7:45pm AEST
Sunday, 28 September
NRLW: Broncos vs Knights or Titans, Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane, 1:15pm AEST
NRL: Broncos vs Bulldogs or Panthers, Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane, 4:05pm AEST
Take note, AFL. Apparently one can host both M & W teams on the same day.
NRLW should rate better than average on Sat night.
The AFL goes “One rejects your reality, and substitiues its own”. ![]()
Especually if the nighty Knights NRLW team wins on Saturday arvo.

Interesting that Nine aren’t using their normal team line ups/in play score graphics since it’s still an NRL sanctioned competition.
Not arguing, much nicer than the usual ones.
Remind me of the Stan Sport SR ones IMO.
I prefer the regular Nine ones. But each to their own of course.
CRAIG BELLAMY: INSIDE THE STORM
Friday 26 September 10:45 pm - 12:40 pm
One of Australia’s greatest coaches and leaders, Craig Bellamy, invites us into his inner sanctum as he aims to lead the Melbourne Storm to ultimate success in 2024.
The scorebar is showing who’s been interchanged off/on. I believe they have done this before, probably in the 2007-10 graphics era?
An innovation from Nine.
