They showed the finals last year too, but on Gem. It was on Fox for a while before that, and Nine used to show one match a week back when it was the Arrive Alive Series about 15 or so years ago.

The same promo aired here in Adelaide with the same start time (but with the 9Gem logo).
Discovered that there is an NRLW game on beforehand, so SA goes straight from that to join the main channel coverage at 7.30 Eastern (as its all on 9Gem here).

No Thursday night game for Week 1 of the Finals is a bit strange when Nine has the timeslot all season.
