Nice breakdown, Though Origin 2 was on Wednesday last season and round 21 doesn’t have a Thursday night NRL game on 9 as the NRLW opener is in the Thursday timeslot.
Speaking of NRLW where every game is on 9’s channels (mainly 2 games on Saturday Morning/Lunchtime and 3 on Sunday with the 3rd on Sunday Night after the mens game), it appears Roosters are playing a few home games in Gosford, Brisbane are playing a couple of home games at Langlands Park (home of the Brisbane Tigers in the Qld Cup, they’re trying to be the 18th team but are 3rd in line at best) and Parramatta are playing some games at Eric Tweedale Stadium which is where Parramatta Rugby Union (known as Western Sydney 2 Blues) are based.
Women’s Origin is now best of 3, Game 1 is the Thursday of Magic Round at Lang Park, Game 2 is night after Men’s G1 in Newcastle, Game 3 is night after Men’s G2 in Townsville.

Who’s playing at HBF Park this season?
Dolphins and Roosters in Round 22 next year. The match will be held on August 2 at 6pm AWST (8pm AEST).
Wouldn’t gain a bigger crowd at Optus?
I think Optus is too big for the match, considering not many Dolphins and Roosters fans will travel west.
They did have a double header at Optus Stadium on a Saturday night in August last season (the one just concluded) and IIRC it took place the day before the AFL match between Fremantle and the Brisbane Lions.
HBF Park is called Perth Oval according to the press release
Yep it sure is
I wonder if they’ll send any talent to the games in Vegas
I imagine there’ll be a couple of on ground hosts like JT and Danika, but panellists like James Bracey, Freddy and Gal would be in the studio with Mat Thompson also calling it from Sydney.
Being legends for their respective clubs, Brad Fittler and Darren Lockyer could also make the trip Stateside for the clash.
If they don’t call this play by play from the ground then it’s a flop. It’s too significant for it to be called from Sydney.
I think Nine is only screening 1 of the 2 matches though? (both games on FOX). If they were covering both, then yes, I’d reckon they’d send a bigger team over.
Nine is covering only the Roosters vs Broncos match, which means the season opening match between the Rabbitohs and Sea Eagles is exclusive to Fox.
Thanks, thought so, which is a bit of a shame that Nine aren’t covering both, would make it feel a bit more of a special event if they did, as they rarely show NRL games back to back outside of finals now.
