NRL on Nine

The Warriors-Knights semi final will also overlap with the NRLW clash between the Dragons and the Broncos at Kogarah (3.15pm AEST kickoff). It will be interesting to see if the NRLW match is staying put. If the answer is yes, it will be bumped to 9Gem, while the NRL final airs on the main channel.

Yeah i was curious to see the start time for the Warriors game…8.30pm NZ time would have been too late for locals.

Nine would have needed to move the news in SYD, MEL and BNE if they wanted any sort of prime time coverage.

I imagine they were happy to go with 4pm (6pm NZ) so news could stay at 6pm barring extra time.

Isn’t 90 minutes just a tad too long for pre-match?

Before you know it , it’ll be longer than the game itself.

The one hour pre game segment on Sunday arvos are long enough. To now have this 90 minute pre game sbow on Saturday is laughable. Almost as long as the match itself indeed.

Warriors preference was 6pm NZT - they were concerned about a 9:50 NZT kickoff. The following article also suggests that Eden Park was unavailable too.

There seems to be a keenness to keep the Warriors happy at the moment - shifting the weekends game to suit them getting home, picking a more friendly timeslot for NZ for the home final

After COVID and wanting to keep them onside I’d say before they bring in another NZ team.

I wonder if they are calling from over there or from the studio

And will there be three commentary streams: Nine’s, Fox League’s, and Sky New Zealand’s call (the one heard on NRL highlights video for Warriors home games)?

Game is being called remotely: Mat Thompson with Billy Slater and Gus Gould, who appeared in the pre-game from the studio.

NSW CUP GRAND FINAL LIVE AND FREE ON 9NOW: NORTH SYDNEY BEARS V RABBITOHS

Gunning for a premiership hat-trick, the Penrith Panthers have their claws sharpened and ready to sink into a club that is no stranger to success, the Melbourne Storm, from 7.00pm.

These clubs have won the last four premierships, and a high-class battle of wits will play out on the field and in the coaches box between the Panthers father-son duo of Ivan and Nathan Cleary, and legendary Storm coach Craig Bellamy and the enigmatic Cameron Munster.

Then on Saturday night the Cinderella stories of the 2023 season, the Brisbane Broncos and New Zealand Warriors, jockey for a Grand Final appearance from 7.00pm at Suncorp Stadium.

Energy, speed and power has turned untapped potential into what Queensland State of Origin Coach Billy Slater believes is premiership favouritism for the red-hot Broncos. However, they’ll be contending with the whole of New Zealand riding the Warriors wave into Brisbane as they push towards their first ever premiership.

Nine’s Wide World of Sports will bring its Sunday best to this weekend’s rugby league coverage when it’s time to decide who will be in the NRLW Grand Final with two semi-finals from 2.00pm.

Plus on Sunday, 9Now will stream a NSW Cup Grand Final 100 years in the making, between the North Sydney Bears and South Sydney Rabbitohs, live and free from 3.00pm. These two foundation rugby league clubs last met in a Grand Final in 1926.

Across the weekend, Wide World of Sports, the only place you can see every NRL finals game including the exclusive NRL Grand Final, will feature the best commentary team in the business: rugby league Immortal Andrew Johns, premiership-winning captains Cameron Smith, Johnathan Thurston, Brad Fittler, Paul Vautin, Paul Gallen and Darren Lockyer, and multiple premiership winners Phil Gould AM and Billy Slater.

Your hosts will be James Bracey, Danika Mason and Allana Ferguson, with sideline reporters Emma Lawrence and Marlee Silva, and commentators Mat Thompson, Brenton Speed and Peter Psaltis.
