How would the ratings work for prime time for the Sharks vs Raiders match since it starts at 5:40pm?

The portion after 6.00pm counts towards primetime shares, the portion before 6.00pm does not.

Something interesting happened tonight in Melbourne. The Storm v Eels game aired on the main channel but when the broadcast window began at 7:30pm, Sharks v Raiders (which aired on 9Gem) hadn’t yet finished.

This resulted in both Nine & 9Gem airing the conclusion of the early game before Nine went on to air Storm v Eels

Nine obviously didn’t want to pay Michael Roberts to host a GTV-specific intro for the Storm game…

and also nice to come 30 minute after the Storm vs Eels game and still see them talking Rugby Leauge on the Nine instead of just cutting it off straight at the end of the game.

Next Storm game on Friday 16 October will be shown on the main channel in Melbourne, followed by post game coverage.

This week’s semi-final draw means the winning team will each get seven day break before the preliminary final. However, putting the Storm’s preliminary final on next Friday will give them extra day’s rest than minor premiers Penrith.

Penrith will get 2 extra days rest compared to Melbourne, as Penrith last played on 2nd Oct (next game is 17th), whereas the Storm played on 3rd Oct and play again on 16th… But both breaks are plenty long enough.

What I mean is if Storm and Penrith win their preliminary finals, Storm will get nine days off before the grand final and Panthers eight.

Does it really matter??

The storm have had to relocate away from home (as have the Warriors) yet no one mentions that as being unfair…

Chicken Wing, Wrestleing, Grapple Tackles, 20 years ago Melbourne Storm can not get a crowd. The most unfair thing to the Storm is David “The Fwit” Gallop(Paul Kennedy’s Book Storm Clouds give you an insight in How the NRL screw the Storm over. etc etc.

LOL, Why fuck us(the Storm) when the storm been the best club in the past 20 years. :stuck_out_tongue:

Have Nine ever had access to every game of the NRL season? Or will that just destroy Fox Sports?

No, Nine wouldn’t want every game either.

Yep, if we’re being realistic I’m sure Nine would love to air every game featuring the Brisbane Broncos and Sydney teams but matches like Warriors vs Raiders they’d probably be more than happy for Fox League to have exclusivity over.

Yes, and they’d want

  • Friday night reverting back to one live, one delayed like it used to be

  • Saturday- one game from the 3 that are scheduled, being at 7.30

  • Sunday - similarly, they wouldn’t want the 2pm game (or one scheduled at night).
