Todd Woodbridge and Jim Courier.
Just give it the US Open treatment and put it all on Gem/Go if it comes to it.
Are the Nine exclusive or world feed.
Heard a verbal thanks to Bracey at the start
Not sure
World feed is Mark Petchey, John Fitzgerald, Wally Masur
Just on this, appears to have been removed from 9Now (maybe as there’s only the one match left), can’t find it?
Forcing everyone to watch Nine’s feed. Previously you had a choice, you could select the raw court feed which had the alternate world feed commentary for Channel 9 and 9Gem’s matches, which is also the same for Stan.
Should have been done from the start for whatever court Nine was picking.
They are not ESPN US. They don’t bounce court-to-court every five minutes.
Why, exactly?
It’s probably just me but I feel it’s duplicative. If a court is airing on the broadcast feed, it should replace the dedicated feed for that court.
Like at least from QFs onwards where all the key matches will be on RLA.
A bit like Sky NZ which keeps running RLA on SS5 even though the world feed on SS1 is also entirely RLA when there’s action there.
But it offers an alternative, both for viewers and as another commercial stream for Nine.
It’s probably engineered that way when it’s embedded with 9Now, as all the court live streams are together in their own section. In addition to Nine’s separate broadcast live streams and several other overlapping buttons and cross-pushes within the platform.
Plenty of viewers might not want Courier and Woodbridge for example, nothing against them either by the way. Conversely, Stan Sport can’t access Nine’s feeds and callers, if they want to.
I just think it makes no sense - you’re actively diminishing the viewer experience online, by taking away the full-court coverage for something that is less-than (ads, anchor interventions, whiparounds and mega screens etc). Even if you switched their commentary it’s likely to not be a complete experience (not talking during ads etc)
Yes but the RLA feed has more analysis and doesn’t break away like the world feed does for look-ins or score updates etc. Case in point, the RLA feed on Sky had the Alcaraz roof complaints after the second set while the SS1 world feed had a feature clip and Steph Brantz padding for a couple of moments. Sometimes when you’re watching a match you don’t need to be bombarded with what’s going on on other courts. We should be celebrating the options available.
Was a little surprised we didn’t see Sylvia Jeffreys today, such as on court with Courier or another talent tonight pre match or during the match in the stands.
Maybe in transit on her way to Italy for the Winter Olympics?
I still don’t know why Stan can’t have nine feeds on their platform. It would be so good watch the final with the nine call in 4k for the Finals.
A super weekend for Nine with 13 sets on Friday and 7 of 8 possible sets in championship matches.
Unbelievable. They’re probably just sitting back counting ad dollars flowing in now.
Todd Woodbridge is doing the on court presentation. And rightly so. Always does a good job.
Talking about the champion winner, they would get interviewed exclusively first on 9, then on the world feed afterwards.
Probably because it would impact the targeted advertising audience on 9NOW
After the presentations ended, Nine Perth ended broadcast at 8:15pm (AWST) to head straight to Nine News. Unfortunately there is no live coverage of post match talk on 9Gem. Perth viewers will have to watch it on Stan Sport.
