You’d think he would the prime time Saturday night time slot on RLA. Should be huge for 9.
Here’s hoping he can do what his mentor Lleyton Hewitt did 20 years ago and make it all the way into the Men’s Grand Final
Olympic gold medallist Jessica Fox posted two photos on social media today.
So excited to be part of the ch. 9 Wide World of Sports team at the Australian Open this week! Bringing you some content from around the grounds
DAY 6: AUSTRALIAN OPEN BROADCAST SCHEDULE
It’s big names and big games on Australian Open Day 6 when Carlos Alcaraz, Coco Gauff, Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka are ready to roll, live and free on the 9Network.
Australia’s Aleksandar Vukic will fight to stay alive in the men’s singles draw, alongside countryman Alex De Minaur, when Vukic meets the United Kingdom’s Jack Draper, for a third round match up during the night session.
After overcoming the local crowd in an epic five set win against Thanasi Kokkinakis, world no.15 Draper will be wary of the unseeded Aussie looking to pull off another underdog victory.
Plus Paris 2024 men’s doubles gold medalist Matt Ebden gets his AO25 campaign underway in the first round of the doubles draw.
Throughout the 2025 Australian Open, fans will have the ability to watch every point of every match, at any time live, free and on any device in HD on 9Now.
The Morning Serve is available on 9Now and YouTube every day of AO25
Join the Day 6 preview with Sam Stosur and Nick McArdle
Looks like tonight could be the first real late one, at nearly 10pm edt and both Medvedev and Paolini matches yet to start…
Pobally should have moved it to court 7. ![]()

Unbelievable but not a shock comeback from Medvedev, but what a victory for the American. Didn’t expect it to be going another 3 hours after I stopped watching!
There’s always got to be one of these all nighters at the AO.
Nine will be disappointed Demon is scheduled tomorrow afternoon, world No. 1 Sinner got prime time again. Centre court matches.
Though you could argue Nine got their wish with prime time Aussies the first few nights, can’t have them all I suppose. And no cricket rights on Seven on Saturday nights.
Though a weekend so should see a large daytime audience, comparatively. They’ll be hoping he sails through again and look for a week 2/Monday prime time Round of 16 clash.

edit
Good to see Jim Courier has arrived at Melbourne Park and sounds like his family is all well and good back in LA
Wouldn’t be January without that iconic voice!
Bracey spoke with him after the news during the pre show and he’ll most likely call the anticipated Aussie Vukic v Draper match later this evening.
Also from News Corp an hour ago:

Not sure why 9 wouldn’t feature Djokovic on the main channel now, AFAIK yet to do so this AO. It could be so they’re not showing two men’s matches with Vukic later and no doubt steers some good audience to 9Gem. And/or to make sure women’s matches are getting equity, with Sam Smith, Jelena Dokic and Alicic Molik calling this all-North American and seeded Gauff v Fernandez match I think for the first time on Channel 9 this week.
DAY 7: AUSTRALIAN OPEN BROADCAST SCHEDULE
Alex de Minaur is out to continue his charge through the opening rounds during the day session of Australian Open Day 7, live and free on the 9Network.
Yet to drop a set, De Minaur faces seeded Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, who has built a giant killing reputation with 11 wins against top ten ranked players since 2022.
Danielle Collins makes her way onto Rod Laver Arena for an all-American clash with Madison Keys. Collins has adopted the villain role comfortably with the local crowds and will be more than prepared to feed off the crowd’s energy if required.
Reigning champion Jannik Sinner leads off the night session on Channel 9, while Iga Swiatek and Taylor Fritz are on court in the day session.
Throughout the 2025 Australian Open, fans will have the ability to watch every point of every match, at any time live, free and on any device in HD on 9Now.
Jim Courier appearing alongside Todd Woodbridge and John McEnroe on the coverage of the Draper vs Vukic match on Nine this evening.
Not really sure it warrants the third headline on one of Australia’s most visited web pages though, also misleading clickbait as usual
A late night finish for Nine tonight. The Draper (GBR) v Vukic (AUS) has just gone into the fifth set - starting at 11.56pm aedt.
Atleast it won’t go untill 3am. ![]()
Nine’s Tony Jones under fire online, went viral last night ![]()

Actually can’t believe this, not really what he said but the way he said it and going on-air (I believe). WTF!? Surely Nine and TA would’ve seen this by now and it’s a terrible look for their broadcast partner and coverage anchor. Will anything be said further/done? Or just sweep it under the rug and it’ll be like it never happened. Awkward as.
Big viral, so many accounts have re tweeted the video and stuff. I think an apology will have to be made.
Wow. That is really poor form from Tony Jones. For a newsreader and Australian Open host, this is unprofessional. To say “Novak is overrated”, “Novak’s a has been” and “kick him out” to the fans is childish.
He will no doubt come out and say “i was joking” and sadly nothing will be done.
