When i went on a tour of the old Channel Nine Sydney Studios in Willoughby about 5 years ago we were told that they use Premiere. Some Newsrooms use Avid Media Composer which is the Industry Standard.

I can’t speak for nine but at most networks it would be a mix.
There’d be a editing system like Quantel/EasyCut which is desktop based, so journalists and producers can look through and cut vision for promos/LVOs etc. Those same systems are often loaded onto edit suites, and all rendering is done through on site render farms. These programs would also allow for packages/vision to be published and embedded into the slot on the rundown (ENPS or iNews). More often then not, for cost reasons if nothing else, these are the primary edit suites. For news you often don’t need the extra functionality that more advanced and expensive production software would require.
Then, for long form or special projects, or for instances in news gathering where clips need to be treated or edited in a certain way (curtaining, slowing down, the ten news first stamp), there would be suites loaded up with either AVID or Premiere. AVID has functionality to publish direclty to rundowns, but I don’t believe Premiere does. The media may have to be published manually using whatever Media Assett Management program is used to record and preview feeds.

Most Nine stations upload to a cloud-based asset system which the computer will recognise the file name/general data and playout that story. If the file has the slightest error in the file name, there will be an error and ENPS won’t recognise it as “ready”.
Situation might be different in places like Sydney, of course.

I forgot about Quantel. I remember when i did Work Experience at SBS in 2014 that’s what they used. I remember observing an Editor in the Edit Suites cutting a story about Ebola. The only team that didn’t use Quantel was The Feed which at the time used Final Cut.
But to bring it back to Channel Nine i also know they use Cinema 4D for their Graphics.

TVNZ have had their Australian correspondent role based in the Nine News Sydney newsroom in recent years, previously used to be based at the ABC.
Newshub (Three) have their correspondent based in the Seven newsroom at Martin Place.

The “national” Nine News Local has a mix of stories from Queensland, NSW and Victoria. Credit where its due for sticking with the format given the circumstances, but its kind of ridiculous that a local news report from Cairns is airing here in the Illawarra.
