No, it’ll be whoever the Nine senior execs follow and how much they want to inflict on us.
Still Indigenous Round?
Yes, this week is still Indigenous Round, to allow the Wests Tigers (which had the bye last week) to showcase their specially designed guernseys. The Storm have the bye this week.
Pretty much all of the NRL/W Indigenous guernseys look really good - even better than their usual home/away guernseys.
Strange situation on the NRL website in terms of highlights.
Games with a Nine simulcast has a Nine watermark, despite the Fox call being used for all games.
That game wasn’t shown on Nine at all, that was the 6pm early game. I think someone’s added that in by mistake?
Alanna Ferguson hosting tonight Broncos v Warriors from the Sydney studios (with Andrew Johns and Billy Slater at the desk).. Brisbane backdrop with the game at Suncorp. Don’t think I’ve seen her host before.
Drury Forbes commentator graphic for Cowboys vs Sharks NRLW game tonight on 9Gem. Not seen his graphic before.
She hosted most of the Saturday Night matches last year as well, and as seen in the caps above has done some NRLW hosting.
Has he called NRLW games for Nine before? He also did the Knights-Raiders game earlier in the day, but can’t say I’ve seen him otherwise. FWIW, Brenton Speed did double duties for both the men’s and women’s Tigers games this afternoon.
I think he has. Though I think Speed or Psaltis do most of them? Anthony Maroon has called games too. They’re probably all that Nine uses?
Drury will be calling more NRLW games, and also the World Cup later in the year.
He does a great job!
Agree! Would be good to see him get an opportunity to call NRL games too, they could utilise him when Thompson or Speed are required for swimming events.
He has called for 9 before for the NRLW, has done for a few years now.
He’s also called on SEN for a little while now, QLD Cup games on kayo and called the nsw cup on Fox about 15 years ago when they had the delayed game on a Wednesday.
I think he does a great job so it’s good to see him getting a crack.
Probably matches the premise of the game itself, which doesn’t appear to be that inspiring either with the Storm out of finals contention, and Penrith have the wobbles after 2 straight losses and no Yeo. But yes, at the start of the year, it would have been a mouth watering prospect.
