Time for 4BC to end the ridiculousness and remove Laurel, Gary, Mark and music from the station.
They need a proper news breakfast program. Peter Fegan and Sofie Formica did really well last holidays. Promote them into the slot.

The rest of 4BC’s line up isn’t doing too well either. Drive is the lowest rated shift at just 3.7. Stations needs a massive rethink. Their attempt to go hard right wing anti-government on any issue isn’t working.

True. They need to be more centred. QLD is much more “chilled” and relaxed than NSW and VIC so they need programs that suit the vibe.

Isn’t it interesting what has happened at 4BC.
One can only imagine what could’ve been if LG&M actually shifted to a music station, as opposed to a heritage talk brand.
The majority who heard LG&M went to 4BC would’ve likely imagined their new programme would be more talk-focused.
It goes to show, you can’t have one without the other.
… And would the same thing happen if/when K&J were to ever shift to the Pure Gold network? …
Listeners want more than just great announcers. It’s a “music” station for a reason.

Yes 100% agree. Archaic indeed ! And not just the newsreaders from mexico. Whenever we here in SYD cop 3AW overnights up the pipe it is just so nostalgic. Complete with stale serials and dozy hosting …

What’s racist about the term? It’s literally location based. Mexico is under the US and Melbourne is under Syd/Bris. Literally nothing more to it.
