Matt Granland is filling in for Mark Allen on The Twilight Zone on 3AW this afternoon. David Schwarz said at the start of the program that Allen is in self-isolation as he has a procedure scheduled for next Monday, August 10. It means Allen won’t be on the show next week either.
Scott Emerson starts his 4BC drive show at 3pm AEST today.
Brisbane’s 4BC Drive is the best new way to drive home
Tune in, stay informed and be entertained with everything that’s making Brisbane talk on the all-local 4BC Drive program with new host Scott Emerson, from this Monday at 3.00pm.
In a jam-packed week-one lineup, regular contributors joining the show will include the latest in Money News with Brooke Corte; everything from the corridors of power with Peta Credlin; and insights from experienced media commentator, Peter Gleeson.
4BC Drive will be a sounding board for Brisbane locals, focusing on the issues that people care about.
“I’m a local, born and bred in Queensland, and I’m here to make 4BC Drive local again,” Emerson said.
Greg Byrnes, Nine Radio’s Head of Content, said: “Scott has lived and worked in Brisbane his whole life, with outstanding credentials for news talk to drive people home.
“4BC Drive rounds out our solid slate of local and informative programming in Brisbane.”
Emerson is a highly experienced broadcaster and journalist who served as The Australian newspaper’s Queensland bureau chief and held senior journalism positions with the ABC. He was also elected to the Queensland parliament and is a former Minister for Transport and Main Roads.
Emerson began his career as a cadet journalist with ABC News. He went on to help launch Triple J radio in Queensland before taking on senior reporting and presenting roles with the AM, PM and World Today programs.
He has been married to Robyn since 1991 after they met as students at the University of Queensland. They have two adult children.
Earlier this year, 4BC announced plans to expand local content in Brisbane, appointing respected editor/journalist Neil Breen as the new 4BC Breakfast host. Popular 2GB/4BC Mornings host Ray Hadley is continuing to present his top-rating networked program.
4BC Drive with Scott Emerson goes to air in Brisbane from 3.00pm to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, from Monday, August 10.
The promo shot even spells his name wrong - great start…
As a former LNP MP/Minister with regular guests like Peta Credlin and Peter Gleeson onboard I’m sure it’s going to be a totally objective affair…
Did 2GB ever change the finance report jingle?
Still in use today. Seems odd to change all the other jingles last month (Sports/Traffic/Weather) but not that one.
3aw doesn’t have a finance one. Maybe that’s why? The other ones were a network change and not just a station one maybe?
Wake up with Tim and Stevie on 2UE.
It has a certain a ring to it
SMH is reporting 2GB and Ray Hadley reached an out of court settlement with Chris Bowen ten days ago. Bowen had accused Hadley of bullying him for years in an explosive Facebook post that received widespread media attention last year.
Former Today show colleagues now working on radio…
He already hosts a breakfast show on the Nine music stations
@Nicholas I know that I just meant Deb and Stevie are working together again…even though it’s just a guest spot on Deb show.
Gotcha
He must be tired then. He should do music trivia on 2ue.
Alicia Loxley filling in for Dee Dee this week.
Maybe they should keep Alica Loxley on 3aw Afternoons.
Put Grubby and Dee Dee on Magic/2ue/4bh Breakfast and move Steve Jacobs to Weekdays Afternoons
Please NO! No “talking heads” on Magic! I don’t need to hear the opinions of over inflated talking egos, I listen for the music. If they need someone on breakfast get someone who knows something about the music, and I don’t mean Steve Jacobs.
There’s some great talent around who can do that but Nine are too cheap and only looking at under contract talent including Steve who is basically just serving the rest of his contract out doing this.
Tom Malone and Basil Zempilas agree 6PR host will quit if elected Lord Mayor
Good on Tom for drawing. a line on this Kerry Stokes fuelled grab for power in all corners of the golden west.
I’ve got the live studio camera of 2GB on at the moment - I’m surprised Nine hasn’t added these cameras either as a subchannel of Nine (TCN/NBN and possibly CTC) or putting it as a program during the weekened. Happens in other countries…you wouldn’t be able to carry any of the sports content, but otherwise, all of the other shows.
