Looks like they we’re taking votes, but I can’t imagine many would have messaged through the app. I’d guess Facebook messages and emails may have been counted too.
Yea, I think they’d finished the countdown for the day then - they’re doing 100 songs per day. The news only seems to be suspended while the countdown is on.
C’mon people, there was no listener feesback on the countdown and I highly doubt there is on any big countdown like this. It doesn’t really matter I guess as long as the person compiling it has good taste.
They may include a few suggested songs but with a big countdown like this there’s no way they get enough votes to make up the whole thing. Not that it’s a bad thing as I think I’d rather have the majority of the countdown picked by a good programmer than Mavis from Melton requesting ‘Sweet Caroline’ for the millionth time
I had the misfortune of listening to the 4BH news update at 7.30 this morning. What the hell was that? It sounded worse than a Super network news update. Huge gaps between sentences, like really long. And the headline talked about warnings for Norfolk Islanders to stay out of the water but didn’t actually say WHY. In fact even when they got to that story they ran an interview clip with a local cafe worker on the island and STILL hadn’t mentioned there was a tsunami! I was thinking sharks, cyclone? Geesus who writes this stuff?
That’s what I was wondering - is this going out on 4BC too? It was dreadful. It sounded like they lost the script and were trying to almost ad lib in parts.
Tonight I tune in , it had the AFL on 2ue. But in an ad break they said if you don’t like sport download the 2ue app to hear the music. At least evidence of better attention to detail rather than ignoring the main target audience who would tune in for music.
I think it’s the dumb contracts that Nine (and Triple M too) sign with the AFL that force them to air the AFL on an AM or FM frequency in non AFL markets (ie. DAB or streaming only not an option).
