Yeh in the scheme of things it’s not really costing any extra
They seem to think local audiences don’t care about the other countries… or perhaps its to try and push them onto Stan.
Wonder what the 9Now live stream is getting during Married, as we know ads / promos often differ from broadcast, including in-line with different commercial arrangements too.
Also wonder if 9Go!, 9Gem, 9Life and 9Rush are getting similar or equal promos for the Winter Olympics and if the 9Now feeds also differ.
MAFS finishes on time for the first time (9:05pm) ever ![]()
Chanel change advice on 9Gem for AEDT viewers.
Main channel opener is the same at was seen at the start of 9Gem coverage.
And we’re back.
There are so many ways this can be improved.
The curling event they’re showing now has already finished. Watching it on Stan. There’s also like 3 other curling matches on at the same time. Why not whip around between them. Would be more exciting don’t you think?
I just realised that the alternative streams are Stan exclusive with nothing on 9Now. Pretty disappointed after really enjoying all that 7Plus offered in Pyongchang and Beijing with every event on there. Probably understandable though but was expecting something similar to Paris (ad supported streams)
I might have to take the $10 Stan Sport offer so I can watch more. I’m dreading having to watch only one channel which I’m sure will be filled with fluff, filler and events that don’t interest me.

I enjoy the Ski Jumping (obsessively to the point I’ll stay wide awake addicted to it), but also like watching the bobsleigh, big air and alpine skiing.
The only event I love and know will be covered extensively on FTA, thanks to Scotty James, now Val Guseli and previously the champion American Shaun White, is the snowboard halfpipe.
FTFY. I already switched over to Eurosport 1 at the 9.05 mark. Ended up very worth it.
Is Eurosport on there? I couldn’t find it.
Aren’t you supposed to receive E1, E2*, TNT2 and whatever Sky NZ offers on Stan?
*Currently without Olympics programming until early Sunday morning
I just noticed the small TM next to Olympic Winter Games and Winter Olympics from TVCynic’s screenshots tonight. An example:
I do wonder why the IOC now takes the names very seriously?
They did this for the Summer Olympics in Paris, but I haven’t seen it for this. All the extra streams are IOC and that’s it. Hopefully it changes on the weekend…
Guessing is they’ll come online Saturday when those networks begin rolling coverage.
Just catching up on the post-midnight block. Sweden-Germany’s 3rd period was joined with 17 minutes left and continued from there, with ad and host breaks shortened in accordance with in-game breaks.
It’s certainly improved from the previous 4-hour infomercial. This is what Sydney/Melbourne should have experienced in their primetime.
