This essentially confirms that Brett McLeod will take up Dougal’s role of reading the afternoon news and filling in when required at least.

Big loss, he had the potential to be the next generation.
But who can blame him, a high paying NAB job sure beats irregular hours and average pay at a 9 job.

I thought he might have ended up on the main weekend bulletin at some stage in the past, but he might feel overlooked and with a less than certain career path.

I reckon the return of Brett McLeod meant they wanted to bring him back into the presenting ranks, leaving little wiggle room for Dougal to anchor many bulletins anymore.

Come to think of it, I reckon he could step into Hitch’s shoes presenting the weekend bulletins when he eventually retires, whenever that happens.
