I heard Christine Ahern mentioning the story to 3AW breakfast today. Scary stuff.
I am worried about security for other reporters covering the Olympics.

Peter Stefanovic has written a book titled ‘Hack in a Flak Jacket’,the book is about his experiences covering major news events and other stories while he was the networks foreign correspondent. The book is released August 9,this should be a very interesting read.
Further to the earlier replies, Brisbane reporter Michael Best is also in Rio for the olympics.
…and if I’m not mistaken, Nine News Sydney reporter Damian Ryan is also in Rio (or going to Rio) for the Olympics.
Presumably, Nine will send one reporter from each market (well at least one from each major East Coast market anyway, since we have Christine Ahern from Melbourne and Michael Best from Brisbane in Rio) so along with the standard Olympic reports, they’re also able to cover things with a slightly local angle (eg, you might see a report from Michael Best just for Queensland’s 6pm news if a Queensland athlete wins a medal) whenever appropriate. But I’d only be guessing here.
