The first few bars of this, was this from Nightline theme? Or just a variant of the regular news theme? Either way they should use it again.

Just thought some MS members might be interested 
Tony Jones (filling-in for Jacqui Felgate who is sick) were talking about the Nine News theme today on 3AW’s Drive program.
TJ was having banter with newsreader Tony Tardio about film composer Hans Zimmer, to which he replied no. Tardio then asked if he’d heard of Ennio Morricone, to which Jones said no, going on to note he was a famous Italian composer who scored the spaghetti westerns ‘The Man With No Name’ trilogy with Clint Eastwood. Jones then said he thought that was the film franchise the Nine News theme came from. A caller after a break then called in and corrected that it was actually from Cool Hand Luke and after another break his producer played the scene with the iconic theme.
The podcast will no doubt be uploaded this evening.

I guess because he’s been at Nine for so long, I just thought he would have a better understanding of the history of Nine News than even we do…
