Nine News Content and Appearance (2020-Feb 2025)

Ridiculous. Better than no news at all.

Interesting, bulletin just continued after the ads as if nothing had happened.

Alicia also did the opening titles which was weird.

Sounds like they had issues prior to 6pm.

It was an attempt at humour.

Could it be that the control room was expecting the network to wait for the end of the women’s marathon like they did yesterday? Could’ve caught the control room off guard.

In May 2021, when Nine News Sydney had tech issues, they temporarily switched to a feed of the Melbourne bulletin, returning to TCN in time for the sport report.

It looks like viewers stuck around. They still managed a big win over Seven.

It was a major technical difficulty but it was only for about two and a half minutes. Different story if the bulletin was not shown for 10 minutes.

It was about 10 minutes wasn’t it
Edit:
Came on at 6:09pm

No. I rewatched my recording, it wasn’t for long at all. Less than 3 minutes from the time the crash happened to when they were back on air.

Not according to the updates here. Up a little bit it’s mentioned it returned at 6:09pm. That’s the timestamp on the post.

The bulletin on my recording began at 1m55s, the crash happened at 2m40s, they came back from a break at 5m47s. Around 3 minutes off air. Really wasn’t that bad.

Okay fair enough. I’m unsure then of the timeline of the commentary above then.

Nicholas is correct, it was back and running by about 6:04pm.

As for the MS comments, usually they can’t be posted to the second or even minute, we were replying as it was happening, a post at 6:09 might’ve been something somebody saw 3, 5 minutes before…
