GTV9 also ran a Footy Classified “Next” promo during Travel Guides.

Pre-emptied/automated maybe?

Because it is part of the annual NRL Magic Round in Brisbane. As the round runs from Friday to Sunday, that allows Nine to keep its weekly quota of three matches.

NRL on Channel 9 moves for nobody, including the Olympic Games… Except for federal elections

Does anybody recall what Channel 7 did with AFL in Melbourne and Adelaide on election night in 2013, 2016, 2019 and 2022?

(Seven did move AFL in those markets for Olympics & Commonwealth Games and I think Royal weddings).

2022 and 2019 election’s were on Seven, with AFL on 7Mate

2016 and 2013 was AFL on Seven with election on 7TWO

ANZAC DAY DAWN SERVICE

LIVE COVERAGE
9NEWS QUEENSLAND
FRIDAY, APRIL 25, FROM 4.25AM AEST ON CHANNEL 9 AND 9NOW

This ANZAC Day, 9News Queensland will once again broadcast Brisbane’s Dawn Service live from the Shrine of Remembrance at ANZAC Square on Channel 9 and 9Now.

The live coverage will commence at 4.25am before the Dawn Service officially begins at 4.28am, marking the historic moment Australian and New Zealand forces landed at Gallipoli in 1915, and continue until first light as dawn breaks.

9News Queensland reporter Josh Bavas, will lead the broadcast, bringing viewers across the state every moment of the powerful and poignant ceremony.

The solemn service will feature dignitaries, veterans, a catafalque party, and members of the public, all gathering in the pre-dawn stillness to honour those who served, and continue to serve, our nation.

Following 9News Queensland’s coverage of the Dawn Service, the ANZAC commemorations continue with national coverage on Today, highlighting the spirit of ANZAC Day across the country and around the world. Melissa Downes will then bring Queenslanders the latest news of the day at 6.00pm.

9News Queensland’s Dawn Service broadcast will also be simulcast on 4BC from 4.25am, hosted by 9News presenter Luke Bradnam.

Tune into Channel 9 and 9Now on Friday, April 25, for special coverage by 9News Queensland as we unite to pay homage to the sacrifices made by our ANZAC heroes 110 years ago.

Why couldn’t they just air the 7.30pm game on 9GO?

Because it could take viewers away from the Super Rugby match screening on 9Gem at the same time?

It seems that there may be some sort of clause that prevents Nine from moving the NRL off the main channel in NRL states, as seen during the Olympics when NRL was given priority - swapping the allocated games around enables Nine to still show the same number of games they usually air on the main channel in NRL states, as well be able to show election coverage on the main channel in the evening.

So far it seems that Nine’s prime time will not be impacted by the coverage of the Pope’s funeral.

Sort of continuing the Bond marathon from summer, which once again abruptly stopped after Die Another Day (the Daniel Craig films must be part of a separate or different rights and Nine only seem to air them on the main channel in survey).

No Time to Die premiered on Nine in November 2 last year. Due to Nine’s coverage of Adelaide Christmas Pageant, the movie was not shown in South Australia until November 9.
