It covers the 40-year history of the AIS, featuring interviews with some of Australia’s biggest sports stars from the past four decades.
But former athletes who claim they were physically and psychologically abused during their time at the institute claim the documentary could potentially trigger some people, leading to harm if it presents a rosy image of the institute.
The former athletes have not yet seen the documentary, but some are concerned that if it doesn’t deal with the institute’s history and the harm many say they suffered, it will potentially be triggering for many.
The Australian Sports Commission, which runs the AIS, acknowledged in 2021 that incidents and practices occurred that were not acceptable during the institutes’ live-in scholarship program, which ran from 1981 to 2012.
According to Nine’s director of programming Geoff Dyer, season 1 of US drama The Hunting Wives (streaming on Stan) will screen on FTA in Q1.
We’re going to play that on the back of Married at First Sight. It’ll be a perfect match for MAFS, and obviously forms part of that windowing strategy and collaboration ….to try and grow interest in a really strong brand and therefore make that pool of viewers who are familiar with it, even bigger ahead of series two on Stan later in the year.
Not returning are Parental Guidance, Listing Melbourne, Big Miracles.
We have a timeframe.
60 Minutes in Perth market only and not listed as a repeat?
It’s a repeat. Nine have aired promos announcing new 60 returns in Feb in decent rotation.
Glad the idea of traumatised athletes is funny to you @Aurora
Correct - not listed in the suppplied guide as a repeat episode. But it will be it will consist of repeated stories.
Elon Musk’s self-driving Teslas have arrived in Australia, but are they safe? Plus, how the very silly Racka Racka twins from Adelaide became the toast of Hollywood.
Don’t be silly, it is the idea that they need to cowtow forever is ridiculous. They won’t be forced to watch it with a gun to their heads.
Stretching the definition of a repeat there.
Who?
I think that’s a bug when there is a late schedule change and it hasn’t pushed through properly
What was the late change? The image above is the correct guide for Brisbane.
Oh sorry, I’ve misinterpreted the picture (thought it was a dual programme in the time slot). Don’t mind me ![]()
So what are you pointing out then @MossPickle ?
It’s the “(Include The No Board at 5:27 PM)” part.
They’ve had that in EPG’s for many, many years. It’s used mostly when for example it’ll have 7pm Travel Guides (Includes The Block sneak peak at 8:29pm).
There was another later on in the same guide for Home Shopping in the 5am hour.
I’ve never heard of anything named The No Board - also it’s weird they’d do it to 9News.
Crime Stoppers is another (at least in Melbourne)
