Ridiculous that The Sunday Footy Show has been delayed in Melbourne for a non-cyclone event in another state.
Nine’s extended coverage for Weekend Today (due to the Cyclone) has been reduced. It ended at 11am aedt, with Wide World Of Sports starting in Sydney, with the AFL Footy Show in Melbourne.
Sydney: 11am: Wide World Of Sports; 12-2pm: Sunday Footy Show; 2pm: Fish Forever; 2.30pm: Drive TV; 3-6pm NRL
Footy Show (AFL) still ran at 10am on GEM NSW/QLD.
WWOS airing in Brisbane too.
So how could they have done a breakaway? Screen a National Nine News special on non-AFL states at 10am and end Today at 10am? The Footy Show has been delayed across the board as well as WWOS. Screen regular programming 10am to 1pm then screen a National Nine News Special at 1pm AEST?
I think with the Nine network has done well to amend programming including on sites like www.yourtv.com.au and EPGs so that people know what is screened when. I daresay that if something changed drastically between now and 3pm that Nine would move NRL to 9Gem in NRL states and screen a news story, As for it being a non-cyclone event in another state, it still affects things like travel, airline flights and given it affects more than one state it has some relevance

They should screen Australian drama series like Scrublands on Nine first and then put them on Stan.
Why the need to subscribe to Stan then?
I know you’re a massive FTA Australian drama fan but it just isn’t going to happen.
Second window FTA airings are the best it’s going to get when it comes to Australian drama and monetizing them.
Seems to be a refreshed strategy at Nine to air more Stan original content on 9, particularly under new boss Amanda Laing who heads up broadcast & streaming.
They probably need the drama points since they will produce no new Australian drama for 9 this year.
Good point there, no doubt Madam will help there as NZ dramas count for a certain amount of the quota required.
And it’s a scam that they are alloeed to do that. They’re now even partly funding Kiwi productions to be able to score the points in Australia.
How does it make sense that they are filling schedules with Kiwi product but not Aussie product?
Makes sense financially.

Why are these Kiwi shows screened on Free To Air first in New Zealand though? Why do the Brits and Americans have so many dramas on FTA?
Because they’ve negotiated it that way?
Different markets, different rules, different tastes.
Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth lineup that night will likely be on 9Gem in Sydney
