The article suggested Mr Marks authorised a significant pay rise for Ms Baker in 2020 prior to her departure from Nine. This was incorrect.
So Marks was trial by Murdoch media; he was threat to his beloved Foxtel, so quick make up a story of a live affair and boom.
According to The Australian, the candidates to replace outgoing CEO Hugh Marks could be down to four: Stan CEO Mike Sneesby, Foxtel chief commercial and content officer Amanda Laing, News Corp president for global digital real estate Tracey Fellows, and former Australia Post boss Christine Holgate.
if she gets it, Nine’s Christmas hampers will now all include Rolex watches
Christine Holgate?
And maybe some left over postage stamps?
Former Ten director, so she’s been around media before. Might be a good catch for Nine. I do think she was unjustly pushed out of Aus Post by Govt pressure.
Please no.
why?
The past few months for her…
I don’t know much about her, but I wouldn’t let a few watches and a ScoMo distraction tactic dictate what I thought of her.
She increased revenue and profits at Australia Post last year and as stated above she has experience in the media business. She could at least be worth short listing for the role, which is seems is what’s happened.
A family friend is an Australia Post licensee on the south coast running multiple outlets. She said Holgate was the most effective CEO to head AP in decades. She actually listened and undertook initiatives to improve systems allowing operators to become more profitable, particularly in regional areas. She was a highly regarded, effective leader before Scotty trashed her reputation for political gain.
If she is appointed Nine CEO it will be regarded as career redemption for her.
I have heard the same. Seems like a good fit for Nine.
Yeah, there was quite a bit in the papers around at the time and on facebook etc… from similar licensees and all saying similar so it was disappointing as good leadership and respect from across the organisation with a company that size can be a hard thing to find. If she’s got the media experience which it sounds like she has, it could be a good thing for Nine and a redemption and a big F U to those who caused her downfall. The deal at Aus Post was a pretty significant thing and deal.
Holgate thought it was a good idea to give executives expensive watches in the middle of a pandemic while there were thousands of her workers putting themselves at risk and working extra hours to ensure mail and parcels could still be delivered. Someone with that kind of judgement is not someone Nine should hire.
No. The watches were given in 2018. They were a reward to a handful of staff for negotiating and securing banking arrangements worth hundreds of millions in benefit to Australia Post over following years.
Given the hundreds of millions of dollars our federal government has squandered and rorted in recent years, the issue of a few watches worth into the 10 or 20 thousand is almost trivial.
I was about wrong about when the watches bought but it’s not a good decision to hand out expensive gifts to executives, who already have large salaries, when you work at a company that serves the Australian public. There are far better candidates who currently work in media and they should be considered first.
Ok but Nine isn’t a public service or government owned lol . It’s a private company…
