Network Ten and Paramount+ Football coverage

Still good to see him hosting. I like the differing hosts.

Virtual advertising on side banners. This was taken at yesterday’s match between Wellington Phoenix and Sydney FC at Leichhardt Oval.

I know that virtual advertising on the field has been happening for a few years in the NRL and have noticed them doing the same for the A-League this season, but i wasn’t aware they were doing the same to the side banners. Thanks for that.

Noticed last night that 10 streamed the pre game coverage on their FB page, at one point there was only 20 people watching.

Good work Ten

truly clueless when it comes to broadcasting sport.

Its a very American thing to do - wonder if someone bright spark from the states thought it was a good idea.

It sounds like other delays (like bookings and VAR checks) are being extended artificially to allow Ten an opportunity to jam an ad in as well.

I remember 10 forcing TV timeouts at the halfway point of quarters in NBL games they weren’t even broadcasting (no one was) in the early 2010s. So not really shocking.

Ten/P+ being criticised for their slow approach to uploading a wondergoal to social media.

And then copyright striking the video and getting it taken down. Now I can understand that, but if they were going to wait so long, then you’ve already lost 50k people who have watched it/retweeted it/etc.

Split telecast again this Saturday night (February 26). Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Darwin will get the match between Sydney FC and Melbourne City, while Adelaide United v Central Coast will be shown in Adelaide and Perth.

Not sure what 10 is referring to in this afternoon’s press release. The round of 16 of FA Cup starts next Tuesday, March 1 (March 2 Australian time) when Peterborough United host Manchester City. 10play will once again stream all matches live, but there is no mention of TV coverage.

The UK broadcasters for this round are:
BBC
Crystal Palace v Stoke City (red button)
Middlesbrough v Tottenham Hotspur
Luton Town v Chelsea
Southampton v West Ham United (red button)

ITV
Peterborough United v Manchester City
Liverpool v Norwich City
Everton v Boreham Wood
Nottingham Forest v Huddersfield Town

I don’t get why 10 wouldn’t want to show the bigger clubs like Liverpool or Chelsea.

ET and Judge Judy repeats or a chance to build your pedigree as the home of (a fair bit of) football and promote P+‘s football coverage? Just seems like such a no-brainer to me.

I think they mean “final rounds”. You’d think games will be added to the schedule.

The A-League Highlights Show on 10Bold is on at the moment. Usually presented by Tara Rushton who opens the show, and talks between each match highlights. Talks about things like who the goal scorers were and a brief talk about the game and talks about the next game.

But tonight, there was no presenter at all. Just showed a visual of the fixtures of the past week. Then straight to the highlights of the first match, that includes commentators from the matches (which is normal). And the game stats aired with no voice-over, and then off to the next game highlights.

Note: yes, it still airs on Monday nights around the 10.30pm mark
