Ironically, the split programming means Newcastle viewers will get Sydney FC v Western United on FTA this Saturday night, rather than their local team’s match against Victory.

Scott Mackinnon hosting tonight’s in-studio game pre, post and half time game coverage. Normally Tara Rushton or Niav Owens host. Or Scott occasionally hosts from the ground when the game is in Sydney

Still good to see him hosting. I like the differing hosts.

I know that virtual advertising on the field has been happening for a few years in the NRL and have noticed them doing the same for the A-League this season, but i wasn’t aware they were doing the same to the side banners. Thanks for that.

Noticed last night that 10 streamed the pre game coverage on their FB page, at one point there was only 20 people watching.

Good work Ten

truly clueless when it comes to broadcasting sport.

Its a very American thing to do - wonder if someone bright spark from the states thought it was a good idea.

It sounds like other delays (like bookings and VAR checks) are being extended artificially to allow Ten an opportunity to jam an ad in as well.

I remember 10 forcing TV timeouts at the halfway point of quarters in NBL games they weren’t even broadcasting (no one was) in the early 2010s. So not really shocking.

Ten/P+ being criticised for their slow approach to uploading a wondergoal to social media.

And then copyright striking the video and getting it taken down. Now I can understand that, but if they were going to wait so long, then you’ve already lost 50k people who have watched it/retweeted it/etc.
