I like Adam Murray, I prefer him to Mitchell Hughes, i didn’t like his presenting much.
I don’t see it as having gone downhill so much in that respect.

I think I’d rather Gav and Tash read sport stories than Jack.
Gav yes, Tash no. Not a fan of hers either.
If it was my choice, Gav and Jane would be my main weeknight presenters with Adam on sport.
Jane news, Sophie sport and Lauren on weather would be my pick.
No Gav? I think there should be one male in the line up somewhere.
Why? Shouldn’t it be merit based not gender based?
It would be to break up the delivery of the bulletin.
I wouldn’t find an “all male” or “all female” read bulletin appealing since it would all sound a bit same-ish.
I always laughed at how this sounded: “Mitchell Hughes, NBN News.”
I agree to an extent, but you would need to keep your product consistent across the entire Nine Network .
Look back when Hendo did Nine News in Sydney, there were all male presenters, I can’t remember who did Sport, but Alan Wilkie did the weather.
An all female news panel might work on something like The Project because it’s news delivered differently, or even a daytime news bulletin where traditionally it’s mainly a female audience, but not on a major bulletin
Ken Sutcliffe was on sport.
That was a different era back then, also the bulletins were only 30 minutes, now that they are one hour, I think more variety in presenting is needed.
I think all Nine metro bulletins these days have at least one male and one female somewhere in their main weeknight news presenting teams.
sorry what year are you in??
People are still whinging about Paul Lobb in the comments, i’d love to see him back on air but it probably won’t happen.
never understood how he got on air in the first place, must be a parochial thing, but he also sounded so strange reading the news, like he was reading a book to a child.
Agree, I never thought much of him as a presenter… he was a better reporter than a presenter.
His brother (Andrew) was chief of staff for a while, that might have had some influence?
After Andrew was made redundant, Paul was unhappy about that, and that may have led to his demise as a presenter too.
Did you not read what I said, I said traditionally. That’s why we have these morning talk shows that are skewed towards women, because traditionally there are more women home during the day than men
You said an all female line up could hold major bulletin. Very outdated. Doesn’t 9 have that every weekend in Sydney and sometimes Brisbane? 7 has had it in Adelaide.
At no point did I say it would work on a major bulletin
It would work OK on Sunrise and I would have kept Nat and put Eddie or Monique as Kochie’s replacement over Matt. But they got scared when Today tried something similar but the pairing was the issue not the 2 female presenters concept.
sorry a typo from me. Yes you said it wouldn’t work on a major bulletin, despite the fact it does and has.
