This graphics package was a major overhaul for Nine’s news service. Done were they with their traditional globe motif in favour of a flying billboard flying through various city skylines.This is also the first time that Nine Gold Coast News uses the same style of opening and graphics as it’s capital city counterparts. Sets during this era became more noticeable as well, even if they still maintained a sense of simplicity, unlike what was happening on the other 2 commercial networks. In early 2007, the Queensland news desk was changed slightly to appear more like the Sydney desk, whereas Melbourne went out for something completely different. Changing their stylish glass top desk in favour of a wooden design and ditching their live shot in favour of a blue background with various imposed images of landmarks.
