I thought they had to if it was being broadcast. If it was used in regular court proceedings, fair enough. but for broadcast laws and what have you.

It would be classified as a news broadcast, and be exempt from classification (meaning the F word could be broadcasted

i think the context and circumstances in how it was broadcast give it a pass. No doubt some will still be offended enough to file official complaints to broadcasters, ACMA., etc.

We get the same in Brisbane during DLS when BTQ switches to a ‘live’ feed for big news events. ABC TV in WA looked to be on it’s standard delay.

Yeah so, do they reapeat all this again in Perth, or just chuck in a different show?

The way they normally would do this is to cut into the delayed broadcast with the live news, then carry on where they left off once the live bit is finished.
It’s a bit jarring but the timing works out so no filler is required & nothing is missed from the original content.
