Mock Schedules

Wouldnt this be better positioned at 7pm on Sunday night followed by the reality TV series, then Sunday Night

eg
7:00pm Young Talent Time
8:00pm House Rules
9:30pm Sunday Night

I am assuming this is a piss take?

one would hope

Why would you assume that it is a piss take? I think Seven are well-positioned to bring such shows back into the spotlight (Obviously this is a ā€˜mock’ schedule in the truest since and shouldn’t be taken at all seriously)

I am sorry if it is serious I hate that schedule and the programs you are recycling. Its full of the worst programming ideas I have seen in this thread. Sorry.

Mock verb

  1. tease or laugh at in a scornful or contemptuous manner.

Ok got it. You could have just said yes to my question then.

Good on her!

I know ABC (and possibly SBS) have done programs similar in nature to the one I am going to suggest. But I think Ten could do a new reality show which could be a sort of The Project spin-off.

The title I thought of was Jobsearch Australia. A program that helps find work for some of Australia’s long term unemployed. Each season could show 8 people looking for work - one from each state and territory.

How I would link it to The Project - the initial introduction to the programs characters could be shown on The Project 2 weeks before each season screens. The first episode would re-introduce/re-familiarise us with these characters. The show could air weekly for 10-13 weeks. The final episode in each series would be to allow viewers to see it they are retained.

7 post Olympic Schedule
I am going to say the first half of the year for 7 will be dominated by returning shows, some of which just scraped in to renewal, i dont expect the first half will be strong with MKR, House rules, AGT, first dates, cheap factuals and a lot of international content. I think their best bet is to hold ammunition and lay low, then go all out after the olympics with new Warbuton-era shows. Wife Swap and Between 2 Worlds will be the highlights of the first half. I know in the upfronts megawall graphic BB was shown in the 7:30 row but i dont think 7 will hold themselves to that, or maybe deliberately misled the competition. they have more than enough 7:30 content to pull off stripped reality at 9:00. I for one am only sitting down for some TV at 9:00 every night looking for something light and trashy to watch but there is never anything on. And James Warbuton seems open minded to experiment and take risks like that. The SAS show, Temptation Island and Instant Hotel could also be 8:30/9:00 stripped content for when BB finishes.
Pooch Perfect, Mega mini Golf, Plate of Origin, FWAW; i’ve assumed are 90min once per week shows.

SUNDAY
7:00 - Mates on a Mission / Monty Specials / Little Big Shots / Billy Connoly
8:00 - RDFS - This is the rotation of Australian drama slot.
9:00 - Big Brother

MONDAY
7:30 - Mega Mini Golf THEN Plate of Origin
9:00 - Big Brother

TUESDAY
7:30 - Pooch Perfect THEN Farmer Wants a Wife
9:00 - Big Brother

WEDNESDAY
7:30 - New Public Affairs Show. (1x in depth 60min topic per episode to keep costs down.)
8:30 - Factual rotation (Border security/Highway Patrol/ Surveillance Oz)
9:00 - Big Brother

THURSDAY
7:30 - Front Bar (AFL states) sitcoms (NRL states)
8:30 - Fam Time
9:00 - Big Brother

FRIDAY
7:30 Better Homes & Gardens/ AFL/ movies

9 August 2020 will be the Closing Ceremony of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Japan will be on the same timezone as in East Coast of AUS (as JPN goes to Daylight Saving during the games). I’d suggest that 10 Aug 2020 will see BB premiere on Channel 7. (This is similar to Nine in 2012 when Big Brother premiered a day after the London 2012 Games).

Isn’t pooch perfect coming early next year? I don’t mind your ideas I’m just not convinced BB is coming to 9pm and I think it will be 2 episode a week show.

Something Warburton may try is something like this

5:30pm H & A (with encores being on 7Two at 7pm)
6:00pm Seven News
7:00pm Reality show (or infotainment)
8:00pm Big Brother (or reality/factual series)
8:30pm reality show/public affairs or drama

I don’t think he will try something like that. Home and Away won’t move in the near future. And he stated in a recent interview he wants stripped reality in that 7:30 slot.

Wheel could work in the timeslot where Family Feud once stood. Was a popular game show on 7 before being axed in 2006. Nine revived it in 2008 before axing it after a month.

WHeel of Fortune at 6pm will probably replace he struggling show, Celebrity name game. A different host? Yes.
Larry Emdur (2006) and Tim Campbell (2008) have previous been hosts OF the show but i think it’s time for a change. Find a fresh new male host and a female letter turner.

Fresh new host and hostess using the US game show format for gameplay. CNG is struggling at the 6pm time slot.

WoF is distributed across CBS stations across America will be a good fit for an early evening game show on 10.

Or what about a new female host and male letter turner…

An idea I had is for Ten to axe the 6pm game show slot and replace it with a 30-minute bulletin focusing on ā€œlocal newsā€ (akin to what they did around 2011-2012), serving as the last 30 minutes of 10 News First. It’s the easiest way to get out of having struggling ratings in that time slot after the affiliation swap (Family Feud became irrelevant at this point from memory).

It wouldn’t rate.
