Metro Radio Ratings - Survey 5, 2025

Are they? 2SM don’t partipcate in the ratings. You have no way of knowing. For all we know, 2GB’s listeners have gone elsewhere that isn’t 2SM, or have died.

SEN tied at 14th - beaten by Sky Sports Radio, and several of the ABC stations. Who knew Sydneysiders don’t want to listen to Radio Sporting Boofhead*/Radio CTE? or thar you can’t copy the Melbourne SEN format into Sydney and expect it to work.

  • = can’t use Radio Boofhead by itself as 2GB, 2SM, Trple M and Kyle are vying for that title.

To be honest I’m surprised they rate that much - other than the older demographic who maybe only have access to old school radios who listens to music on AM in mono these days.

What’s interesting to note is that nearly 65% of Gold 101.7’s audience is aged 55 & over, whilst for Gold 104.3 in Melbourne, that is at 52%. Indeed, the only demo where Gold outrates Smooth in Sydney is at the 65+, whilst in Melbourne, Gold outrates Smooth in the 40-54 & 55-64 demos.

2GB Continuous Call Team Coverage No.1 As Footy Finals Fever Hits Sydney

As NRL finals fever sweeps across Sydney, the city is tuning into the 2GB Continuous Call Team, the undisputed No.1 in football coverage on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Today’s GfK Survey 5 results confirm 2GB’s dominance, making it the clear choice for footy fans.

Friday (7-11pm): No.1 with an 11.3 share
Saturday (1-10pm): No.1 with an 8.1 share
Sunday (1-7pm): No.1 with an 8.0 share

Overall, the Continuous Call Team is the clear No.1 across the weekend, commanding an impressive 8.4 share. This dominance extends to live audio streaming, where the team holds a powerful 9.2 share of the football audience.

Greg Byrnes, 2GB Station Manager, said: “As we head into the finals, these figures prove The Continuous Call Team is the clear market leader for NRL across the weekend. Listeners can be laughing out loud one minute, or captured by the game’s best live commentary the next. The CCT, combined with 2GB’s strength right across the week, shows why we are Sydney’s number one destination for trusted news, sport, entertainment, and opinion.”

When they rebranded to Gold, I thought they wanted to tagged the 25 to 54 demos :man_shrugging:

They’ve been well and truly set up to fail, by the music shift to CHR on 97.3

Their audience can only be so loyal when they’re not getting the music they’re used to, or want.

This is the first time any station other than 2GB has topped consecutive surveys in Sydney since Nova in S2 and S3/2004.

Gold 101.7 is rating lower for under 55’s than 2Day. No wonder ARN are trying to shake up the station.

Not only that, but even 2GB has a higher under 55’s average audience than Gold 101.7.

Music is one thing. The show itself is quite jarring. Corey Oates was never a good fit. Should have just left Robin and Kip and the show would be fine.

Couldn’t have anything to do with the fact that 2UE is now networking with 4BH and magic 1278 and dropped announcers after 7pm.

How many decades will SCA be defending 2dayfm

How many decades will SCA be around in its current form? I’m guessing less than 1.
