Currently, I only have a couple of streaming apps on my smart TV: 7plus and Kayo. So don’t really watch much else.
Only use foxtel app to stream for sports
Free to air for abc and channel 9 only
I don’t like the others. Just to clarify only watch the main channel 9 and abc and abc news.
Does no one have a traditional set up these days with an arial?
I do, I rarely use FTA streaming apps.
Only use Kayo for catch up sports, i use my Foxtel iQ box for live FOXTEL TV.
Looks like it’s just me. Normal TV with an ariel. No streaming services. I watch tv from the lounge. Stretch during the ad breaks, or play on the phone during the ads.
And on the odd occasion, i watch a DVD. Woah - a DVD? What a dinosaur… lol.
Lol yes, I only buy Blu Rays now, only watch my DVDs if the show wasn’t made in HD eg. older stuff.
I have both.
But I find it way more easier watching normal television. Flicking and changing channels is much easier and faster.
Exactly. And I watch through a PVR for pause and rewind… which are also getting harder to buy as well.
100% the same with me. Flicking/ changing the channel is quick, and simpler.
FTA channels with a normal aerial in the lounge room.
Streaming through smart tv in the lounge or Chromecast from my phone if watching the bedroom tv.
Use Foxtel Go on tv and phone/chromecast.
Never watch DVDs etc any more. Don’t even have a player. Have purchased some movies through Apple TV.
I have to ask…
How did you set that up? Is there an app? Is it TV-specific? Is there a piece of hardware?
Livestream studio running on a pc. I used a web browser on a gfx track to display the clock. 3 mevo cameras also connected. Video (7News) is amongst the media playlist. HTTP over csv for side photo and text pulling live data from our website.
I watch pretty much everything through my Apple TV. I have an aerial but that’s really only a backup in case my internet ever goes down.
I used to was watch most of it via a PVR but now its via my firestick. I only use the pvr to pause and rewind live FTA when I need to and sometimes I my actually record on it. It does work as a good back up.
I use a Amazon firestick and sometimes Barney Hubbl but Firestick has alot of Overseas Apps and I don’t know what they are and you might need to Pay with a Credit Card for Subscription.
I do always watch free to air when I can especially if the Internet is pissing me off and the apps are updating at odd times , it has its usefulness.
How good is the Baywatch tv channel ? ![]()
It has been my most watched channel for years now LOL.
I’ve done a mix of tv watching over the last 23 years. When not watching through a regular tv/antenna set-up.
Digital tv capture cards (VisionDTV from 2004-09/10 then a Winfast tuner card from 09/12.
Had a dvd/hdd-recorder in the mid to late 2000s. Then a Panasonic model of the same until 2014. From 2014 (still in use but rarely today!) I’ve had a Panasonic PVR, it was great to record shows and speed through commercials. I don’t watch a lot of FTA on a consistent basis these days but over the last 2-3 years I’d still use the pvr to record and playback sport events.
I don’t use streaming apps, I’ve tested them in the past and I find them unreliable.
I get Stan Sport for when there’s a Grand Slam on as they have more tennis matches available to watch.I currently have Stan Sport for the Winter Olympics as the only winter sport I’m interested in is figure skating and they show all the competition. I have a PVR so I can record occasional programs I like for example, ‘MasterChef Australia’ so I can watch it later and zip through all the ads.
I subscribe to one streaming service at a time,Stan or Netflix. If any of these don’t have any more programs I’m interested in,I’ll choose another one ,Amazon ,Binge or Paramount,or Apple TV,etc.
I have my TV connected (through the PVR)to an outside aerial but I hardly ever watch FTA TV.
