I haven’t watched much home and away since 2008-09 but I don’t think any adults have fostered anyone except for Jett John palmers son

Why does Home and Away have such a long break compared to Neighbours who i believe is on all year ?

Shortland St seems to be only a month off air.

I guess they feel they don’t need to screen the show in the traditional non-ratings season so hey have taken the bulk of that time off.

Neighbours has gone back to taking an annual break. This year it’s three weeks.

Home and Away has a lot of music playing all the time in the background compared to none in Shortland St and I think rarely? in Neighbours. Home and Away also has that background dramatic music they seem to use also on Big Brother/ MKR etc to emphasise something dramatic .
You only occasionally hear a popular song played on Home and Away like when Sally was stabbed or when someone leaves the bay etc.

Wouldn’t they have to pay a fee in music licensing for the music played in the gym/diner/salt etc all the time?

I understand music played in the background in the gym while people are working out . I’ve never heard music playing in the background in a real life surf club or a Salt type restaurant. Diner I can sort of understand… smaller place sometimes they do that .

Yes they do have to pay a licencing fee for the music they play.

Neighbours does use music a fair bit. Not so much as background music at the cafe, pub or bar, like they used to do in the past. More often when it’s required in a storyline or for a music montage. They use a lot of in-house tracks and local music which doesn’t have the exorbitant licencing fees of international music.

Sam Frost has quit Home and Away and will film her final scenes tomorrow. It’s believed she’s moving back to Melbourne to be closer to family and friends.

Makes me wonder whether she doesn’t want the vaccine at all so is being written out for good.
