Noticed tonight it is now H.264 SD in Toowoomba
19 June
Any word on wether it will be going HD?
9Go is not planned to be HD. 9Gem is supposed to go HD next month.
SBS ONE and SBS VICELAND are now streaming in full HD via SBS On Demand. The remaining SBS multi-channels are now 720p, however all of them except World Movies look to be upscaled from 576p unfortunately.

SBS Upfronts: NITV to go HD on 5 December.
I wonder if SBS will have to reduce the bitrate of other channels to allow for NITV to go HD? Will it affect picture quality of WorldWatch and SBS Food?
SBS leading the way. That just leaves Food and World News.
They wouldn’t have enough spectrum to supply all their channels in HD would they? (Including the removal of SBS SD)
Maybe being a Government assisted national broadcaster, they might get extra bandwidth.
Plus can probably steal some from/get some extra as compensation for their radio feeds.
Slightly off topic of NITV going HD, but it reminded me that there was talk last year of 7two going HD. Has anyone heard anything more about this?
SBS will be simulcasting NITV in HD and SD on both 34 and 36 respectively. This is surprising as I didn’t think they’d have enough bandwidth to launch a new HD channel on top of the existing 3 HD’s without sacrificing something. It’s also interesting to see them remove a double-digit radio simulcast for NITV SD, but not do it for SBS ONE SD in Tasmania.

I guess it is, as said above it is HD in Illawarra and it is also HD in Bendigo. Can @WAtvVideos check if it is HD in WA?
Would explain why the picture quality looked quite good tonight when I was watching it
Does anyone know if metro and regional NSW and VIC viewers will get 7twoHD?
In the UK, the BBC shut down their standard definition services, now only offering HD feeds only for satellite viewers.
I wonder if they’re gonna close down their Freeview SD channels next over there (which they should consider doing)
There’s very few HD channels on Freeview here though
