Gold Network

Give it a rest. People are allowed to listen to whatever they want.

And equally, people are allowed to campaign against it.

I wouldn’t worry too much - won’t be much of a show to boycott by the year’s end.

Those people just shouldn’t listen. Astounds me all these whingers and protestors about things they don’t have to listen to or watch. Let others enjoy them if they want. You dont have to consume!

Who…us or MFW?

Remember, Nine have been quite open about potentially acquiring an FM network with a much wider reach, so maybe this eventually leads to something more than just the occasional tie-up. I mean, Nine clearly want to get back into radio, and ARN is… well, very much in need of a new direction.

Mainly MFW.

They don’t have a gun to their head forcing them to listen. Just don’t. Such a waste of life time they’re wasting their lives with the whining and protesting.

But they can do as they please. You can’t tell others what they should or shouldn’t do.

The Telegraph in the UK has been running a similar campaign for some time now. Not very original.

Why so negative?

Has anyone done that campaign in Australia, before ARN and Gold? If not, I’d say it is original. Very few people would be aware of the Telegraph’s campaign, nor would they care about it.

Not being negative. Just pointing it out. Sorry you’re so offended. Work for Gold?

I’m not offended, and I certainly don’t work for ARN. I’m just at the end of my tether with all the unnecessary negativity from online keyboard warriors.

The problem with the pub isn’t the actual pub. It’s the cost of booze.

No one wants to pay 16 bucks for a pint of beer anymore.

I think this will struggle. The Sydney audience won’t jell to Eddie and similarly Melbourne audiences don’t appear to take kindly to national radio shows. They will try too hard to cater for a national audience so obviously there won’t be too much talk about AFL which is Eddie’s passion.

Toni has announced she will be anchoring the new show.

Toni Tenaglia says she can’t wait to get stuck into her newest role as anchor of The Long Weekend, the Friday show on ARN’s GOLD Network to be hosted by Karl Stefanovic and Eddie McGuire.

After getting inundated with messages, the consistently high-rating radio veteran – heard weekdays on ARN’s GOLD stations in both Melbourne and Sydney – took to social media to clarify that she’ll be part of the new Friday show, which will also be iHeart’s global network and broadcast internationally across a host of different platforms.

We would like to apologise to the global audience in advance, as Karl and Eddie do not represent all Australians and have the combined IQ of a footy team on an end of season trip.

Karl and Eddie are going to ruin the '80s Lunch segments every Fridays - switch to Gold '80s instead: no '80s music during the workday - it’s going to be a total disaster
