Christian is starting a new mentoring service called Finding Fire.

Finding Fire service will encompass mentoring, courses, workshops, and podcasts, and launches with ‘The Heart of Speaking’, a live four-part, eight-week online program designed to help participants “awaken their truest voice and express themselves more authentically”, based on a system he has moulded over 25 years of doing live radio without a script.

I’ve been meaning to post that the A-Z of the 80s was good last week. They played a few less often heard great songs.

Well, there’s rumours of a lot more work going into ARN’s digital stations now the deal with SCA isn’t going ahead, so I guess OC will be national on digital.

I’ve never understood why ARN has been so slow off the mark with their DAB stations. I mean for example given they only have one station in Brisbane now with KIIS97.3, why don’t they have Gold on DAB? Or even River or Cruise? Makes no sense.

I’m predicting Christian will be networked across Australia with ARN via DAB+.

It’s a no-brainer to have Pure Gold DAB+ available in Brisbane & Perth, whilst I reckon Sydney could relay Christian onto WSFM 80’s (or iHeart80s - whatever it’s called these days) to give an alternative to Jonesy & Amanda.

Mind you - I personally don’t need an alternative to Jonesy & Amanda in Sydney.

ARN are very fortunate to have 2x strong breakfast teams in Sydney & Melbourne to leverage the Pure Gold network on.

If anything - I think ARN could/should network Christian onto Cruise1323 Breakfast and on (what I would have done) Pure Gold 97.3FM Breakfast.

ARN also have launched iHeartBounce, which is a streaming-only R&B station on the iHeart app.

I had a listen last week and it’s easily the best R&B station in Australia, has some great music.

It’s available only on the iHeart app, so, yes it’s national but is not on DAB.

Bill Weaver did a tribute to Ron E Sparks this morning on WSFM.

As everyone knows… Bill and Ron E worked together on WSFM for few years.

I remember few years ago… Ron E did a Sunday show called the Big Chill on WSFM… it features the music of the 60s and the 70s.
