Malaysia with some events in Singapore could work. Singapore has a 55,000 seat national stadium and can host events. First CG co-hosted by two countries.
KL hosted it alone in 1998

Thank you Dan for making us pay lots of money for nothing! Seriously, I am sure glad heâs gone after the COVID lockdowns, vaccine mandates and the Commonwealth Games cancellation spending billions of dollars of taxpayer money for nothing.
i disagree, i wish he was still our premier . and thatâs your opinion not everyoneâs
It amazes me how some people continue to rail against vaccines and lockdowns without acknowledging the lives saved by both. What youâre really saying is youâd rather more people died.
Didnât Victoria have the most Covid deaths in the country under his watch?
It amazes me still to this day the hold this bloke had over Victorians.
He had you all under some weird spell. Crazy.
I was initially excited about the prospect of a regional Commonwealth Games, however as details (including rubbish like the proposed aquatics facility and velodrome arose) emerged and the cost of them rose it clearly didnât stack.up. cancelling saved billions of dollars for the cost of a bit over half a billion. Not ideal, but better than going ahead.
Iâm not a Victorian. The virus got away from them in Victoria hence the extra lockdowns were required to avoid even more deaths. Itâs pretty simple.
What would you have done? Let it rip?
No doubt you were equally angry about the half a billion that the fedâs robodebt and its class action payout cost us for no benefit.
Or the original version of the Stage 3 tax cuts which wouldâve made us normal people pay while the wealthy got yet another cut?

Largely down to aged care outbreaks in 2020, with aged care service delivery and performance being a responsibility of solely federal government

Show me an Australian state or territory that didnât have vaccine mandates. And how many lockdowns were down to people from NSW coming into Victoria and spreading the virus? (most of them!)
Bugger me dead, not this crap againâŚ

I personally believe it should be the personâs choice if they want to get the vaccine or not, if they donât want it then that is their decision. Where am I saying I want more people dead. And the mandates were for much too long, Melbourne was the most locked down city in the world.

I am surprised even after all of the mandates and commonwealth games cancellation people are voting for Labor. I guess no matter what Labor does people will still vote for them.
showing your true colours i see btw you must have been fun to be around with âŚnot
Thereâs no need to get personal Jason. He is allowed his own opinion.
Anyways, I thought you left MediaSpy? Youâve posted a goodbye message like 3 different times in the last year or so.
Letâs leave it there please, weâve gone wildly off-topic for a sports event that probably wonât even happen anywhere.
All good! No worries! ![]()
$560 million to buy and then cancel the games VS $2.6-$6.9 billion for the games to go ahead without much long-term benefits to the sporting infrastructure of Victoria.
HmmmmâŚas a taxpayer I wonder which one Iâd prefer to pay if I had to choose one.
The point is though they shouldnât have placed a bid if they couldnât afford it.
Poor planning from the VIC government. They clearly didnât crunch the numbers properly before bidding.
Thatâs the national embarrassment.
