When was he at Seven?
Never?
Appalling click-bait headlines by the usual suspects. Negus was a very vocal critic about the standard of commercial news reporting. This cruelly demonstrates his point.
Today had a couple of dedicated segments this morning. For Sunrise it was mostly in their news bulletins then The Morning Show had a segment with Peter Ford.
Never knew that, or seen it reported anywhere.
What was he doing?
Seven reported
He also contributed to Seven’s coverage of both Gulf Wars.
Seems like he did a brief stint at Seven between working at Nine and the ABC. Looks around 1990/91.
Maybe just did some expert analysis during the war?
and not only did Ten’s social media label him as “George Nebus”, I was not aware that Ten News First in Melbourne included footage of Paul Hogan’s parody “George Fungus” in its tribute to George? As pointed out by Media Watch Bites:

Here’s the Ten News report in question (11:04 in the video)

Interesting that wasn’t shown in the Brisbane version of the report; there was other vision spliced in, so it must have been noticed.
I also saw that and other parodies of George seen on several reports. Seven’s report pointed out that he was famous enough ‘for others to poke fun at him’; in another report IIRC Liz Hayes had to point out that the video being played was Paul Hogan.
A couple of lesser known videos of George Negus
