Future of radio

It was better than I thought it would be, and I’m with Vodafone which doesn’t have as extensive coverage as Telstra and Optus. The dropouts were only for a few seconds and the TuneIn app picked up the stream again.

I commute to the snow, where I work part-time in winter, and I tried the streaming for the drive there. I had one 10 second drop out between Canberra and Cooma on the Monaro Highway (between Michelago and Bredbo). There were two dropouts between Cooma and Jindabyne (one 10-20 second just past Cooma Airport and one for around one minute to 90 seconds between Berridale and Varneys Range). There are also a couple of short dropouts once you get into Kosciuszko National Park.

it will get better next year when voda will have seamless roaming onto optus’ regional network.

its the radio staions own fault with more networking, inane talking heads and cut backs.

Or you could just leave it on 102.3 and watch it morph from classical to CHR (with some static in between).

According this post, radio is still alive and well in 2063.

Unfortunately, because the music was so bad from 2024 to 2063, they kept having to play very old stuff like Robbie Williams.

And with some tropo, you might get some overlap! As in that case, I can hear both in the car around my neck of the woods at the same time (with them cutting in/out over the top of each other frequently). And some Triple J as well.

I’m sure I won’t be here by then

Just got my BYD Seal last week to

I find it works ok on local AM stations, but not as good as a petrol car when the signal is a bit weaker, but hey I was so happy it had AM none the less, can quite happily drive around Toowoomba and listen to 4GR in my new EV

Yeah it worked better then I was expecting been a full EV

My other half test drove a BYD Dolphin yesterday and noted it also has AM aswell

And how difficult would it have been for someone at RadioInfo to jump in their own car and take a more relevant picture.

Not to mention the steering wheel being on the wrong side of the car as well.

This aint Texas, aint no Holden.

I think he’s a cannuck.

It’s still an Australian website, even if the original author is not. They’ve published the article locally.

When it comes to the future of radio I think we just have to look to CADA.

Long gone are the days of stand-alone big-time radio stations, but a brand with a radio station as just one medium among many, targeted at a particular audience, seems to do well.

CADA before or after ARN sacked all bar two of its announcers?

I’m sure the CADA sackings were also necessary to pay for Kyle and Jackie O.

The talent they kept is pretty all right tho’, I love hearing a Kiwi voice in the morning and K Sera, well she’s pure talent.

I do think though that CADA should take K&J in breakfast, but keep the CADA playlist.

I’d support K &J getting a demotion to CADA (from KIIS). CADA has some of the most low brow tripe I’ve ever heard I’m afraid to say, so they’d fit right in.

I remember K Sera as ‘Cyclone Sarah’ from the One FM/9inety6ix.1 days. Showing my age (and preferences) a bit there.

Would explauin why CADA (and ARN) are no longer a Sydney Kings partner.
