In AFL Round 6 Geelong had an easy victory over the Western Bulldogs seen in four markets while in Sydney it was the local derby with Sydney’s win over GWS impacted by a lenghty delay for lightning. The total audience was 583k in preliminary numbers, down 160k on last week.
In NRL Friday Night Footy the Panthers scored a thrilling golden -point win over the Dolphins to just pip the AFL with 586k down 90k. The post match coverage that would have included golden point had 366k to be up 80k on last week and the highest rating of the season.
Better Homes And Gardens was the top primetime entertainment program with 510k ahead of Gardening Australia that was just under 500k. Patience that followed on ABC was down 60k to 428k while Love It Or List It Australia on 10 was up 30k to 257k. Nine’s AFL market movie The Intern plus Airport Security USA made the top 30 as well.
The 6pm new battle was won by Seven News that averaged 1.224m ahead of Nine’s bulletin on 1.029m. The afternoon’s 5pm contest had Tipping Point on 725k to rank third overall ahead of The Chase with 600k.
7pm saw ABC News on 767k well ahead of A Current Affair.
At breakfast Sunrise ended a big week with 436k while Today had just 296k and News Breakfast from Perth had 262k.
Note that both football numbers are likely to be adjusted due to overruns.
