Friday 14 March 2025

It was a big Friday for FTA sport with Seven winning its second night of the week and with the network’s highest share in four weeks. The result was slightly higher than last week as Nine edged slightly lower. ABC lost +2 points that were picked up by 10 and SBS.

Friday AFL saw Hawthorn prevail over Essendon at the MCG with the game the number one sport averaging 633k, down slightly on the previous week. Earlier, Better Homes And Gardens had recovered from last week’s low to 413k. Also in Seven’s split schedule was The Green Mile that did well to get 154k.

NRL’s second Friday of 2025 saw The Roosters stun the Panthers in a high scoring game averaging 587k also down slightly week-on-week while David Attenborough’s Mammals was just under 200k, down 25k.

ABC’s Gardening Australia was the top prime time entertainment show on 443k, up 20k from last week but below its usual Friday average. Season 2 of Under The Vines then continued with a comparatively low 270k.

10’s Friday featured Graham Norton at 7.30 with 134k, slightly lower than Wheel Of Fortune UK had been getting in the timeslot. Earlier, 10’s afternoon Formula One coverage made the top 30 this year with 132k. The broadcast didn’t help 10 News though.

At 6pm the news battle was closer than usual with Seven <60k ahead and both bulletins over one million. At 5pm Tipping Point made the top five with a 90k margin to The Chase.
