For Seven, Round 18 of the AFL continued with Gold Coast Sun’s narrow win over Collingwood featuring on the main channel in three markets to an average 750k. That was up 120k week-on-week and the biggest audience of the year. Better Homes And Garden also did well to be up 80k to 520k and be the top prime time entertainment show of the night. With House of Wellness’s season over, there was a movie at 8.30pm, The Other Woman, that just made the top rankings with 149k.
Nine’s primetime featured The Sharks win over the Dolphins (insert fishy pun) in NRL Friday Footy. An average of just over 500k tuned in that was down 110k from last Friday. The Wimbledon Semifinals averaged 277k under the “Late” coding.
Meanwhile, ABC’s Gardening Australia dropped below 400k for the first time in 10 weeks, to be down 70k to 390k. The second episode of the network’s new British drama Patience lost 80k from its premiere.
10’s Friday featured House Hunters Australia and Have You Been Paying Attention? but saw no primetime entries in the top 30. Only the afternoon’s news bulletin made the list this week. This is the first Friday with just a single entry for 10 this year. In 25-54, however, 10News+, House Hunters and HYBPA all made the ranking. The 10News+ audience in 25-54 was slightly higher than Thursday’s and was also higher than last Friday’s result.
The 6pm news contest continued to be close with Seven’s bulletin ahead by 20k to just give the bulletin a win across the week by less than 4k viewers. That followed Tipping Point’s second consecutive +200k winning margin at 5pm helping the show record it highest rated week ever.
At breakfast another win to Sunrise, but the lower that usual result concluded the program’s lowest rated week since week 1 of the year.
