Seven’s AFL Friday Night that featured main channel coverage in four metro markets averaged almost 700k national viewers. The result was second only to the previous week’s result that topped 800k. That saw Seven’s share slip by +3 points.
Nine’s NRL coverage with 571k was also down from 649k the previous week to see Nine down slightly. ABC improved but 10 was down slightly and relegated to fifth place with its lowest share of the year. SBS got a 3-point gain with its best Friday share of 2024.
Gardening Australia had a rare win in the entertainment genre with a 140k margin over Better Homes and Garden that was relegated to 7Two all but Sydney and Brisbane metro areas. It was Gardening Australia’s highest rating since February. Silent Witness then got a 100k week-on-week boost to be just outside the top 10.
SBS’s repeat of Semi Final 1 of Eurovision, that saw Australia eliminated, made the top 30 reach table with 187k, approx. 80k lower than last year’s result while Ready Steady Cook on 10 was again outside the top 30. Earlier, 10 News had its highest Friday rating of the year.
At 6pm Seven News had its best Friday of 2024 after The Chase pulled 20k ahead of Tipping Point in the afternoon. Meanwhile Sunrise had its fourth straight +400k result, 75k ahead of Today.
