Presumably these pay-per-view Disney movies will still be available to buy and/or rent on Fetch, Google Play, Apple, Microsoft, PlayStation and YouTube.

Fox Sports 4K as a stand alone channel launching on 7 November

Just letting you guys know, Foxtel have backtracked a bit from their position they told me yesterday. They now tell me the contract for Disney and Disney Jnr channels is set to expire at the end of summer next year. Negotiations are continuing to keep the two channels on Foxtel.

Foxtel has picked up five documentaries from distributor DRG, including A Royal Tour of the 20th Century and Dynasties: The Families that Changed the World.

Summer has arrived early with Foxtel today launching Summer Fest – a massive line-up of the hottest entertainment featuring the world’s best live sport, drama, movies and shows all in the one place.

Headlining Foxtel’s Summer Fest campaign is a huge slate of new and exclusive dramas including the star-studded Watchmen (Oct 21), based on one of most the iconic graphic novels of all time; Catherine the Great (Nov 3), starring Oscar winner Helen Mirren as one of the world’s most infamous monarchs; as well as the highly anticipated series His Dark Materials (Nov 5) based on author Philip Pullman’s award-winning trilogy of the same name.

Also in November is the epic three-part drama series War of the Worlds (Nov 7), the latest adaptation of H.G. Wells’ seminal tale; new courtroom drama All Rise (Nov 12); and the chilling new crime drama Prodigal Son (Nov 13) starring Tom Payne as Malcolm Bright, a gifted criminal psychologist and son of the notorious serial killer “The Surgeon” (Michael Sheen).

December will see the premiere of Foxtel Original series Upright (Dec 1), written by and starring critically acclaimed musician, comedian, actor, writer and director Tim Minchin; as well as FX’s spine-tingling new adaptation of A Christmas Carol starring Australian actor Guy Pearce as Ebenezer Scrooge.

It wouldn’t be a Summer Fest without cricket, and Foxtel will be bringing viewers the biggest and best line-up of cricket ever offered in the one place and also selected matches available in Ultra HD. Catch all the action from the T20, Test Cricket, KFC BBL, the One Day International Series, and Women’s Cricket. OCTOBER 10-13: SUPERCHEAP AUTO BATHURST 1000

October is the biggest month of motorsport in Australia and it all starts with the mecca – Bathurst. Defending champion Craig Lowndes is back on the mountain and will team up with Jamie Whincup. This year’s runaway championship leader Scott McLaughlin has never won a Bathurst before but nothing is guaranteed on the most challenging circuit on the calendar. This epic three-part drama series is the latest adaptation of H.G. Wells’ seminal tale – the first alien invasion story in literature. Set in Edwardian England, the series follows George (Rafe Spall) and his partner Amy (Eleanor Tomlinson) as they attempt to defy society and start a life together. Rupert Graves stars as Frederick, George’s elder brother, and Robert Carlyle plays Ogilvy, an astronomer and scientist. The series tells their story as they face the escalating terror of an alien invasion, fighting for their lives against an enemy beyond their comprehension.

Among them is newly appointed Judge Lola Carmichael (Simone Missick), a highly regarded and impressive deputy district attorney who doesn’t intend to sit back on the bench in her new role, but instead leans in, immediately pushing the boundaries and challenging the expectations of what a judge can be. DECEMBER 16: SIMPSONS 30th ANNIVERSARY STUNT

New Foxtel Experience updates commence for iQ3

Foxtel today confirmed the recently released New Foxtel Experience has completed its roll out to
iQ4 set top boxes and updates to the first 50,000 iQ3 set top boxes will commence tonight with all
iQ3 updates anticipated to be completed by mid-November.

The New Foxtel Experience provides customers with iQ3 and iQ4 set top boxes a completely redesigned
user experience bringing together the best of TV and on demand, all in one place.

Initial feedback from iQ4 customers has been very positive with users reporting the New Foxtel
Experience has made finding their favourite content and discovering new content much easier. They
are also welcoming the opportunity to stream seamlessly the on demand content included in their
Foxtel plan and alongside Netflix1 shows, all in one place.

Foxtel Chief Strategy and Product Officer Alice Mascia said: “The New Foxtel Experience has opened
up an incredible new way for our customers to enjoy the best entertainment. We’re excited to now
be underway with iQ3 installations and upgrades so even more Australians can experience Foxtel like
never before.

“By the time iQ3 updates are completed in November, more than 1.1 million of our advanced set top
boxes in Australian homes will have been updated allowing customers to enjoy Australia’s
best TV and on demand all in one place, including Foxtel’s 16,000 hours of on demand
programming.

“With the completion of the iQ3 updates in November, we will be adding more apps to the New Foxtel

Foxtel customers do not need to do anything to activate the New Foxtel Experience. Software updates
will occur automatically through their Foxtel connection. The New Foxtel Experience on iQ3 is
available immediately for new customers having commenced with installations occurring from
Thursday, 10 October.

Despite that unclear headline, and unless I’ve missed something, only Disney Movies channel has been confirmed to close, with Foxtel still negotiating for Disney Channel and Disney Jnr to remain, as told here.

Who’s Experiencing Troubles Getting a Whole Episode of DC Programming on Fox 8 to Watch Back like i am right now, Today i’ve Watched Supergirl with the First 15 Minutes Missing and Tonight during a Doom Patrol, Only 40 Minutes was Taped instead of the Usual 75 Minutes.

Also premiering on FOX ONE in November are two of the hottest new series from the US – All Rise and The Prodigal Son . All Rise (Nov 12) is a CBS courtroom drama that looks inside the chaotic, hopeful and sometimes absurd lives of judges, prosecutors and public defenders as they work with bailiffs, clerks and cops to get justice for the people of Los Angeles amidst a flawed legal process.

Prodigal Son (Nov 13) is a FOX crime drama starring Tom Payne as Malcolm Bright, a gifted criminal psychologist who uses his twisted genius to help the NYPD solve crimes and stop killers, all while dealing with a manipulative mother, a serial killer father (Martin Sheen) still looking to bond with his prodigal son, and his own constantly evolving neuroses.

Returning favourites coming to FOX ONE include Magnum, P.I. S2 (Nov 10), Chicago Fire S8 (Nov 14) and S.W.A.T. S3 (Nov 17), as well as Strike Back S8 , Burden of Truth S2 , Blue Bloods , Sex & The City , The Mentalist , Hawaii Five-O and House.

FOX ONE will also be home to the long-running and hugely popular TV soaps Days of Our Lives , The Young & The Restless and Shortland Street , previously housed on Arena.

FOX FUNNY is the place to go for comedies and sitcoms that can be watched time and time again. The channel will celebrate world class comedies of the noughties and now, including The Big Bang Theory , Modern Family , The Office , Two and a Half Men , How I Met Your Mother and My Name Is Earl .

FOX CRIME is the ultimate destination for thrills, mystery and murder. It’s arresting TV for lovers of crime and suspense enjoyed from the safety of their own homes. Key programs appearing on FOX CRIME include CSI , CSI Miami , CSI NY , NCIS , NCIS Los Angeles , NCIS New Orleans , Bones , Cold Case , Criminal Minds and Without a Trace .

FOX H!TS will feature iconic comedies from the 80s and 90s such as Friends , Will and Grace , Frasier, The Nanny , Everybody Loves Raymond and Seinfeld.

These four new channels will complement Foxtel’s existing FOX-branded channels – FOX SHOWCASE, FOX8 and FOX CLASSICS.

FOX SHOWCASE continues to deliver the world’s most ground-breaking stories, from cutting edge international and original dramas to must-see special events. FOX8 , Foxtel’s flagship entertainment destination, features all the hugely popular DC Universe series including Batwoman , Supergirl , The Flash and Doom Patrol , alongside animation favourites The Simpsons , Family Guy and American Dad and reality series American Idol and America’s Got Talent .
