Thanks for that constructive criticism Jeffmister.

You will note below that Foxtel pay very little notice to the community discussions.

More a conversation starter than anything.

However, thanks for your help.

That’s fine - just wanted to point you to the website instead you genuinely thought this was the Foxtel Community website.

You’re right about the lack of attention Foxtel has towards what people post on there. Pretty much it’s left for other users or so-called ‘Community Managers’ to answer questions/concerns

Does anyone know if iq3 works 100% these days?

My IQ3 has been working better recently, I haven’t had to do a hard reset for a while! It still doesn’t work perfectly sadly.

It was a pretty crappy service. It originally had a ridiculous viewing limit and the PQ is still atrocious (hence the unmetering). Channels like FOX8 were cut down versions.

Not a great loss except it means there will be no more live stream of SBS and ABC.

Channel 137,7TWO,has disappeared today and been replaced with 7MATE on Channel 188

Presumably a Foxtel satellite-only change? As far as I can tell, Foxtel cable is still running 7TWO on 137 along with 7mate on 188.

Yeah I have satellite,so maybe it’s that

7mate replaces 7TWO for selected satellite areas

7TWO will no longer be retransmitted to selected satellite areas from 26 July.

From Tuesday 26 July, 7TWO will no longer be retransmitted via our satellite to customers in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland. Instead, 7mate will become available on channel 188.

Cable customers will continue to receive both channels and experience no reposition in channel numbers - with 7TWO remaining on channel 137 and 7mate remaining on channel 188.

This doesn’t make sense. Supposedly Olympics related?

…or maybe because the AFL asked for it?

TV Tonight reckons it was Seven’s decision to swap 7TWO with 7mate for satellite customers. I don’t think the swap is fair for people who rely on Foxtel to receive FTA channels, especially since 7TWO is the only channel showing the Rio Paralympic Games in September. So people will have to stream the Paralympics on 7Live or Plus7 app.
7TWO also airs lots of British shows which are popular with elderly people.

Foxtel announces new Arts and Music division

Foxtel’s Executive Director of Television, Brian Walsh, today announced a newly created Arts and Music division.

Foxtel Arts, the dedicated HD Arts channel, and Foxtel’s suite of music channels – [V] HITS, MAX, Foxtel Smooth and CMC – will be managed by a joint team under newly appointed Group Channel Manager – Arts and Music Fraser Stark.

Brian Walsh said: “Foxtel is Australia’s only television provider providing the local music and arts industries with curated locally produced channels and we will continue to do so with the same passion, enthusiasm and excitement which we’ve been doing since 1995. Our music and arts offering is very important both to us and our customers and we are proud to be the home of music television with unique and specialised music brands and content that Australians love.”

“Fraser has done an exceptional job building and refining Foxtel Arts, since its launch last year; to become a channel like no other and we’re incredibly proud. His energy, imagination and commercial approach will build on the incredible talents of the Arts and Music team to provide a complete music and live performance offering for our subscribers.”

Fraser Stark said: “I am incredibly excited about this new opportunity and there is great synergy between the Arts and Music brands. I look forward to leading the strong and passionate music team to continue providing these great channels for Foxtel’s viewers.”

The new team structure will commence from Monday, August 29. Rebecca Batties, who has been heading the Music portfolio for the past two years, has made the decision to move on from Foxtel and has vacated her position as General Manager of the group.

“I we would like to acknowledge Rebecca’s terrific contribution and wish her well with her next endeavour.” Brian Walsh said.

Foxtel go to great pains to tell you that they are not a substitute for terrestrial coverage and they make available access (be it via cable or sat retransmission or through iQ3 basically by the goodness of their heart)

Legion to air day & date on FOX Networks in more than 125 countries including FX Australia in 2017.

For anyone ho has a Foxtel iQ3 Software Update 4 has been released today. You can wait to get it pushed out by Foxtel or speed up the process by going to the Foxtel Community

So nothing new again?

7Flix finally has been added.

I thought that 7Flix was already available on Foxtel! Unless it’s now available via satellite.

Also might be worth mentioning that Gold Coast viewers now have access to the recently launched localised feed (for the 5.30pm bulletin) of Channel Seven via Foxtel as of yesterday. Not sure whether all viewers have it or if it’s just a cable/iQ3-only thing.
