Foxtel

Funnily enough, half of Fox’s coverage is wonky UK ones (I’m looking at you F1 & Sky Sports UK)

I thought the deal was for JUST foxtel, and all other brands (kayo/binge) would keep operating under Hubbl.

Riddle me this: what is Foxtel without content that Kayo & Binge share with it.

The difference is infrastructure. If someone wanted a ready to go set up, with a customer base and swap out some channels with their own, they could very easily.

Totally agree. Kayo is absolutely awesome. Would be even better if it had some rugby, but hey there’s so much other good stuff on Kayo I probably wouldn’t have time to watch rugby even if they had it.

The deal is for Foxtel which owns Hubbl so they’ll be buying everything.

As long as I can still watch CNN.

I thought this as well, hence all the work of spin off their content into different apps for when Foxtel becomes mostly redundant.

Isn’t binge the most successful sports streaming brand in the world? I think it’s really profitable while DAZN looses hundreds of millions. I think ESPN poached someone from Kayo to to run their new streaming service too.

I don’t think they would be looking to rebrand to DAZN - I can’t say anyone I know in the US or UK knows this brand. Kayo has huge bats recall

It’s taken a big stranglehold in boxing - and now has UEFA Champions League in certain markets.

If that’s the case could they rebrand as Kayo and take that worldwide? It would fit with the boxing. Far fetched I know and extremely unlikely but if it’s known as a successful brand and that could be captured further afield.

I would think they wouldn’t want to part with the DAZN brand, especially since it does have a strong presence in many markets- especially in Continental Europe and in Japan where they hold rights to many different sports.

Perhaps a transitional strategy might be something they would consider- perhaps something like “Kayo- powered by DAZN” for a year or two before a full rebrand to DAZN.

Still, I would say has ultra low brand awareness in UK and US. I did a a whip Around of my uk and us colleagues an and only 2 knew the brand - out of 46 people. And my company works in entertainment branding ans marketing.

Kayo sports was inescapable when I was in Oz

Yes they could and I’d say a successful brand and would work.

But directors and chiefs at DAZN likely to favour their own less successful brand - pride likely

The news channel? Surprised it took them that long for it to arrive on Foxtel - I’m guessing it’s also on Flash now?
