Sigh. Still no 7Mate HD, no 9Rush, no 10Shake.

SBS Viceland HD and SBS World Movies HD are via aerial and SBS Viceland and SBS World Movies are via satellite or cable in the same area? Or that list is useless as it is confusing?

The SD feed is only available on Foxtel Satellite, whereas the HD streams are FTA aerial only.

Foxtel is closing their Foxtel Community (forum) on the 26th October. This used to be somewhere to get and give information, programming info etc. about Foxtel but has been comletely useless in the past few months. New mods took over and it ‘fell to pieces’. Just another Foxtel failure of recent times.

It sucks because they’re free and should just be available on a device that can receive them. But I don’t think it’s due to incompetence or laziness though, which is what a lot of people discussing Foxtel on forums seem to think. Getting your channels on Foxtel boxes costs money, regardless of how it’s delivered.

Isnt it something to do with the EPG? Something along the lines of Fox cant ingest the DVB-T broadcast EPG and has to push it out from Fox

I’d say so. Foxtel uses MHEG or similar. The FTA’s each run their own race with standard EIT.

It’s where TVCynic and I get most of the press releases about new shows from.

Dear Community members,

For the past six years this online forum has been available for our customers, and often passers-by, to share tips, troubleshoot technical problems, chat about entertainment news and engage in discussions about our premium content. It was an exciting endeavour when it launched and marked a moment in time when we ramped up our efforts as a company in the social and online world, making connections with our customers who were so eager to engage with us.

However, six years is a long time in the world of online platforms. These days this forum is largely dedicated to technical support and we’ve been making major improvements to our online support options which has seen a slow decline in engagement with the Foxtel Community. These improvements include:

  • Our website support page has been overhauled to provide significantly enhanced self-service support and troubleshooting.
  • Our customers are now able to diagnose and troubleshoot a wide variety of issues tailored to our various box types and products.
  • When logged into My Account, customers can send commands to their boxes to clear error messages and arrange a technician or equipment replacement when the issue can’t be resolved.

We’ve also established other ways to share content news and chat about it, in addition to our existing social media channels, which are all growing in popularity:

  • There are over 1500 members in our Foxtel Fans Facebook group, where there’s great discussions about our premium content and lots of other frequent updates about Foxtel.
  • The What’s On page on the Foxtel website include richer insights into upcoming shows.

With a range of new options to engage with us, find updates on content and troubleshoot issues, we’ve decided it’s time to close the curtains and Foxtel Community will officially bow out on 26 October 2020 .

While we know that some of you will find this disappointing, as things change we want to ensure Foxtel provides fresh, relevant ways for everyone in the Foxtel community to engage with us.

We can’t sign off without acknowledging those of you who have been here for the long haul AND have made some fantastic contributions to help support and strengthen the spirit of this community.

my parents are still SD subs and they had Austar and Foxtel still. (an IQHD Box)

I keep Foxtel for their Showcase channel which has most of the shows I watch + HD sport.

Does anyone understand what this is supposed to mean?

“Changes to iQ1.5 and iQ2 Boxes”

From the 19 October 2020, iQ1.5 and iQ2 boxes that are not currently connected to the internet will no longer be able to connect to the internet. There will be no impact to linear viewing or current recordings as part of this change.

Possibly a sign that Foxtel plans to eventually discontinue any services through iQ1.5 and iQ2 boxes which require the internet?

Not being a long term Foxtel subscriber, just wondering how often Foxtel change their news channels.

I noticed they’ve left a couple of blanks in the updated channel numbering, would that be just leaving room in case they add a new one (like they added Sky News UK), or maybe for popups?

600 Sky News
601 Sky News Weather
602 Fox Sports News
603 Sky News Extra
604
605 Sky News UK
606 BBC World News
607
608 Fox News
609 CNN
610

Generally that one, but also to make clear the difference between each country of origin.

And funny how they still have ABC News way down on 642 instead of putting it in the 600s. I wonder why? :slightly_smiling_face:

Oh I’m sure if anyone asked them, it’s for consistency, so people know where to find it
