Television host Braith Anasta has handed in his player manager accreditation ahead of the NRL’s crackdown on conflicts of interest in the game.
The NRL announced “more stringent quality assurance mechanisms in relation to conflicts of interest” under the seven-year $5.3 billion broadcast rights deal it unveiled in July.
Anasta, the host of Fox Sports’ flagship panel show NRL 360, is among a range of on-air personalities at both companies (Foxtel and Nine Entertainment) who have dual roles in the code.
The Canterbury Bulldogs premiership-winner has represented players Cameron Munster, Lachlan Ilias and Jonah Pezet as well as inaugural PNG Chiefs coach Willie Peters through Searoo Sports Management, where he has been the general manager.
But he will relinquish those duties to Searoo Sports founder Justin Caines after voluntarily handing in his agent’s accreditation to focus on his on-screen career.

Goodbye to Fox League!
In 2027, Fox Sports and Kayo Sports will come together under one Kayo Sports brand. Fox Footy, Fox Cricket and Fox League will become Kayo Footy, Kayo Cricket and Kayo League, with the remaining Fox Sports channels becoming Kayo Sports.

“Not Many” by Ganay Biralunbar, 3%, Fred Leone and Scribe is this year’s FOX League Finals Footy anthem.
It should be Kayo NRL and Kayo AFL. Both codes are colloquially called “footy” in Australia

I think the reason both aren’t called that is because they show NRLW and AFLW respectively too. As well as Origin and international Tests.
And FOX League shows English Super League games too.

Fox/Kayo need to fix their sound mixing it was painfully obvious they were in studio. There was almost no crowd noise and the coverage suffered badly from it.

RECORDS TUMBLE AS NRL ON KAYO SPORTS SOARS TO NEW HEIGHTS
The 2026 NRL Telstra Premiership season delivered its ninth consecutive year of audience growth on Kayo SPORTS, a DAZN company, with average audiences increasing 9% year-on-year (YoY), making it the most watched ever on the platform.
Across the regular season, 6.4 billion minutes were streamed on Kayo SPORTS, with the season also becoming the most watched ever across all Foxtel Group platforms including FOXTEL, FOXTEL Go, FOXTEL Now, Kayo SPORTS and BINGE.
All teams recorded YoY viewership growth across the season with the Brisbane Broncos recording the highest average audience of the season and cross city rival, The Dolphins, recording the biggest YoY audience percentage growth across all teams. The Penrith Panthers and the North Queensland Cowboys delivered the second and third highest average audiences across the season respectively.
Other audience highlights from the season include:
- Wests Tigers v Brisbane Broncos in Round 7 was the most-watched regular season match of the season, and of all time, with Adam Reynolds landing a late field goal to secure a thrilling 21-20 Broncos victory.
- Sydney Roosters v Brisbane Broncos in Round 9 was the second most-watched match of the season, as Reece Walsh returned from injury and the Roosters held off a second-half Broncos comeback to secure a 38-24 win.
- The season opener in Las Vegas delivered two of the five most-watched matches of the season, with Newcastle Knights v North Queensland Cowboys and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs v St George Illawarra Dragons ranking third and fourth respectively.
The 2026 Magic Round delivered another huge weekend for rugby league was not only the most watched round of the year, it was also the most watched regular season NRL round of all time on Kayo SPORTS with 304 million minutes streamed. Highlights from the round include:
- Sydney Roosters v North Queensland Cowboys at Magic Round rounded out the five most-watched matches of the season, with the Cowboys pulling off an 18-12 upset.
- The game was also the #1 performing regular season 5.30pm slot of all time.

Fox League and Kayo SPORTS, a DAZN company, to host the 2026 Dally M Awards and deliver a packed week of Grand Final build-up, live finals action and the NRL Grand Final.
Fox League and Kayo SPORTS, part of DAZN, will ramp up the rugby league action across Grand Final week, with the 2026 Dally M Awards, Prime Minister’s XIII clashes, Grand Final previews and live finals action all featuring across the schedule.
With NRL 360, Matty & Cronk, and The Fan wrapped for the 2026 season, attention turns to the 2026 Dally M Awards on Wednesday evening, followed by NRLW on Fox and Finals Footy with Matty Johns on Thursday to preview Sunday’s Grand Finals.
The 2026 Dally M Awards will be broadcast exclusively on Fox League, available on Kayo SPORTS, on Wednesday night, celebrating the players, coaches and moments that have shaped the 2026 NRL season. Yvonne Sampson returns as host of the event, in her tenth year at Fox League, alongside Braith Anasta, Cooper Cronk, Shaun Johnson, Lara Pitt and 2021 Dally M Medalist, Emma Verran.
The action begins with the 2026 Dally M Awards Red Carpet Show from 7:30pm, hosted by Eloise Sohier and Jake Duke, before the main event gets underway at 8:00pm.
The week will also feature a double-header of international rugby league when the Prime Minister’s XIII take on Papua New Guinea on Saturday October 3, with the women’s match from 12:15pm followed by the men’s match from 2:05pm.
