The Socceroos had a bad start to the third stage of AFC World Cup qualifiers, losing 0-1 to Bahrain on the Gold Coast tonight. Harry Souttar’s 89th minute own goal (deflected off a Bahraini shot) was the only difference.

The Sydney Morning Herald’s Vince Rugari posted on X after the match that is the second time since 1981 that Australia have lost a live World Cup qualifier on home soil.

Bit random! San Marino, the lowest ranked football team in the world, have won a match.

Larger deal than Liberty were paying (they’re now paying that amount for a premium sponsorship deal), and includes (essentially) paying 10 to put 9 more regular season games on FTA. Definite dub for the Dub.

Europe certainly loves its football.

In London right now, 4 live games on TV (maybe more?) on TV at the bar I’m at has 2 on TNT Sports 1 & 2, 2 on SKY (Football and +).

And TNT (1st and 3rd screens from left) have a red square/dot in bottom right, maybe the FOX equivalent of the beer glass for commercial feeds?. SKY doesn’t seem to have that?
