Only TV options for Bendigo for the time being will be the networks’ streaming apps.
TBH - you’d be more worried about the fires than whatever the networks are or aren’t airing…
That’s insane for a city of what 200k?
These stations regularly take nights with Denis Walter from 3aw so nothing special about these stations relaying 3aw during 8 to midnight but Interesting to note as I just checked Gold1242 has reverted to music as normally scheduled.
I mentioned that because it broke into normal programming. As only 2ay regularly takes drive from 3AW
Which studio is hosting the emergency broadcast, assuming Melbourne?
If anyone in the area was able to stream ABC News Breakfast, Bendigo listeners were advised to tune to 774 this morning.
Radio also gave out the same advice. I think there was confusion from too many frequencies.
Are any Melbourne FM stations doing anything for these fires?
Similar to Sydney during Bondi.
Other music stations were mostly playing their normal music playlists
I can understand why, even though the state designated everyone to be an emergency broadcaster.
This morning the emergency broadcast is being broadcast from ABC Wodonga studios with Sandra Moon (Goulburn Murray breakfast host).
The Bendigo Advertiser has removed its paywall (from yesterday)
Also mention of Vision Australia Bendigo
Vision Australia Radio (Bendigo) is rebroadcasting the ABC Central Victoria signal online and via Phoenix FM Bendigo 106.7FM.
Had ABC news radio on in the car today and the journo supposedly on the ground in Castlemaine was telling locals affected by the Harcourt fire they could follow updates on their local ABC which is 91.1. I’m presuming it’s still off air? If so pretty shoddy not to even know that their services have been knocked out by said fire…
Have it from my source. The techs/engineers are heading up around 4pm Vic Time with CFA escort.
Thank you for your assiduous analysis of the content.
All major disasters are reviewed, let’s hope your observations are noticed by many and are included.
This is what I love about Mediaspy, the high quality posts that get to the bottom of what’s happening. We should be grateful to @the_xrod’s contributions.
ABC Far North, North QLD, Tropical North, and North West QLD are currently running rolling Cyclone Coverage - Kemii Maguire presenting from the Toowoomba Studios
Word back from Mt. Alexander is not good, feeder cables gone, EPP Room burned out, electrical switch boards gone and damage beyond repair to the TX’s…
It’s a sad day.
My thoughts and prayers go to everyone affected by the fires. And the engineers who now clean up the mess.
The “emergency” selection on ABC listen app is very odd.
They list every single VIC station but only have ABC North Queensland for the cyclone.
If a lot of stations are running the same feed, just display the originating stations. It’s not hard.
So… nothing left.
