He could give Paramount/CBS “an offer they couldn’t refuse” and buy Ten.
CA will release the schedule for the next 6 summers in the next few weeks (smh reports it will be done in two tranches, next year’s schedule this week and the remainder after Easter)
Looking forward to that Boxing Day Test against Ireland.
Slightly more seriously, would be interested in the level of detail in this given the on again/off again development of the Gabba - would be hard to plan around.
I’m thinking the status quo will remain and we won’t have the 2x3 test match series per summer as there seems to be a move away from that (too costly to actually play the game you administer!)
Hobart only seems to get a look in when it’s the 2x3 series or as a reserve, like the Ashes test when Perth still had a closed border.
England released their decade I think?
If the proposed stadium in Hobart goes ahead (looking even murkier after the election) and the ICC come through with their plan to allow Test Cricket under a roof then Hobart will be looking for more test matches and hopefully supporting them a lot more than previously.
A couple of big ifs there but it’s what is in the plan. Big Bash already going to happen under the roof as there’s a precendent but ODI and Tests still requiring an approval from ICC who are looking at it for a few venues apparently.
I wonder if that leaves any prospect of a Darwin/FNQ series in the middle there? It’s been way too long since we hosted Bangladesh, and it’s likely the only way to fit in an Ireland series.
According to CA website which published the FTP until 2027, it had
2025-26
August: Three ODIs and three T20s v South Africa (2025) (To be played in northern Australia)
2026-27
August: One Test and three T20s v Afghanistan (2026) (northern Australia) (unlikely as this years series was also cancelled due to no women’s team)
March: Two Tests v Bangladesh (2027)
The Bangladesh series will likely be moved to that August 2026 slot replacing the Afghanistan series.

Also keeping in mind that more than likely there will be a one off test against England at the MCG lin March 2027
Yeah a commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of Test Cricket. Makes one wonder if it’s a sign that Test Cricket wont be around to see it’s Bicentenary
