COVID-19: Greater Sydney & NSW Re-Opens

At this stage no seeding outside the Northern Beaches.

But where are these other 2 cases from?

Why canā€™t this idiot premier be harder on people. Mandatory masks would be a start. Also a ring a of steel on the northern beaches. No one goes in and no one goes out. Easily doable due to geography.

She said most likely Avalon as they live on the Northern Beaches.

Ok that is good, just havenā€™t confirmed it?

Yep

Look, I hope sheā€™s doing the right thing, but Iā€™m still inclined they should be going into a hard lockdown for 5 or 6 days until they are 100% on top of this. 30 cases is not a good number. This is a lot worse than Adelaide.

30 cases out of 28,000 tests yesterday is a good result.

Thatā€™s 30 cases for a city the size of Sydney. The ratio if you compared it to Adelaide would be significantly higher.

I agree. And the further we get away from the day it was discovered (Wednesday and Thursday last week) hopefully the numbers start coming down Tuesday or Wednesday as everyone should have been tested by then.

Thatā€™s a really good number. If we can keep that up for .3 days they can probably source all infection and get those people in self isolating.

28,000 tests is phenomenal.

I do wonder if a lockdown is inevitable for the whole of Sydney whether it should just happen sooner rather than later. They do seem to be hinting at that. But obviously they donā€™t want that. And I agree just mandate masks!

It really is. I guess the rich do care about others.

Massive numbers of tests taken yesterday.

I think theyā€™re talking like they can avoid it as the cases are still contained in the one area. It all depends if they seeded it elsewhere. Itā€™s pretty tenuous right now. The thing with a harder lockdown earlier would be to find all the cases so people can have a Christmas.

Donā€™t forget NSW if you can avoid the singing and dancing that will keep people safe. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I think this is a clear indication that Victoria is tightening its borders with NSWs. I expect QLD will go the same way.

Gladys again mentioning no seeding outside the Northern Beaches at this stage.

:grimacing: Iā€™m currently in Albury on my way to the south coast. Might just pause the trip and wait for Dan and Brett to speak before continuing.
